Wilson's Place

Beautiful property!! Thoughtfully designed with amazing beautiful painted ceilings – even in our room! Each floor has a long shared balcony/terrace the rooms open onto so we had somewhere lovely to hang out with a lovely ocean view and so many birds monkeys – and the peacocks! The staff were brillant, helping us get petrol, laundry etc. Vishwa who took care of anything we needed was brilliant – he helped us hire a scooter, get a driver for our next hotel, very speedy laundry even after we'd checked out! There's no breakfast or food amenities on site really but this is not an issue and actually ideal - Hiri has a million amazing places to eat, get a lovely coffee etc so you wouldn't want to be tied to breakfast with your hotel. There's a reason this places books up fast, it's such a relaxing vibe but with so many beautiful touches that make it feel luxurious too! We'll be back, thank you!

Beautifull building, rooms and location, staff is very friendly and helpfull. We especially loved the story behind the accommodation, the owner is local and the ground was owned by his family for generations. Super beautifully decorated and very close to the beach! :)

Groot bed met een grote klamboe en een leuk zitje buiten. De rooftop was prima!

De prijs klopte echt niet. Wij betaalden de hoofdprijs 80 euro per nacht! De betonvloer op onze kamer zag er erg vies uit, maar dat bleek indertijd een chemische reactie geweest te zijn in de vloer! Zie foto

Bij Wilson’s Place was alles dik in orde! De rustige ligging is perfect want op 10 minuten lopen naar zowel het pittoreske Blue Beach, alsmede naar Hiriketya Beach en het centrum met zijn vele restaurantjes. Opvallend aan dit verblijf waren de prachtige plafondschilderingen op de tweede verdieping, zowel in de kamers als op het terras! Er staan watertappuntenHet personeel was bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam! We zijn zeker van plan naar Hiriketya terug te keren en dan zeker weer naar Wilson’s Place!

Eigenlijk niets, maar de warmwatervoorziening draait op zonnecollectoren, dus bij bewolkt weer moet je het wel eens zonder warme douche doen. Nog een klein puntje, de gordijnen zijn niet lichtwerend, dus bij zonsopgang komt het daglicht naar binnen..

Decoration was really nice. Comfortable bed. Nice and quiet.

All through Sri Lanka in smaller home stays you get a welcome drink. It would be nice if they did small touches like this. Felt a bit overpriced for what it was but it was a really nice place to stay.

Rumesh has built a fantastic property, rooms are airy and very comfortable. Garden area with hammocks to relax and read. Staff were very helpful. They will complete a restaurant by end of 2026 which will be a good option for breakfast and dinner., although plenty of cafes and restaurants close by. Location is around 10-15minute walk to edge of Hiritekiya beach, so it is in the quiet area, which was fine for us. Plenty of Tuk tuks to get around.

Nothing, but perhaps a small outdoor pool may be a good option to quickly cool off.

Heel schoon, fijne kamer, goed bed, mooi uitzicht.

Iets verder van het centrum, maar goed te doen met tuktuk. Houd je ramen dicht, anders word je ‘‘s ochtends wakker van de honden en pauwen.

Die Zimmer sind so geräumig, der Blick vom Balkon und der Dachterrasse unbezahlbar!

eine etwas dickere Decke wäre im der zweiten nacht toll gewesen

Beautiful property set just a short walk from the main beach so felt very peaceful. Clean and comfortable with lovely staff. Would definitely come back!
