Oorvloed Guesthouse

The house is on a working commercial farm but is neatly fenced off with plenty of space and trees to isolate the property. The house was exceptionally clean and came equipped with everything we needed. The aircon in the living area was awesome with fans in all the bedrooms. This is a big house so groups and families with kids will enjoy it as well as couples as we were. Access to the Breede River is less than 3km from the house with lots of farm and wild animals to be seen on the way. Part of our adventure was getting our car stuck in some river sand and were most grateful to the farm for arranging a tractor to rescue us. PS nighttime load shedding is an awesome time for star gazing at this house.

The road from the N2 to the farm is long and untarred. We managed well enough in a little VW Up so the road is decent enough but it does make for a hard and often slow drive - beautiful scenery though. The only issue I had was not knowing which load shedding zone the farm was in so couldn't plan until we got that figured out. It would have been useful to have a welcome notice or booklet to advise us on the small things. This is a mere suggestion and didn't spoil our stay in any way.

We loved that there was a river close by where we could swim. It was like a beach and the owners even gave us kayaks to use. This wasa highlight

The plunge pool uses river water. Although the water was clean it just didn't seem appealing to swim in

really nice house with great facilities and suitable for more than 6 persons

the way there was long and hard, especially with a small rental car. if you keep that in mind and calculate with longer drives, it’s super cool

We really loved the spacious farm home and surroundings.
