Wir hatten überall Schimmel im Zimmer, die Spülung von der Toilette funktionierte nicht. Das Bett war nicht bezogen und die Decke extrem dreckig mit Flecken.

Here is the English translation: It was impossible to find the accommodation. There was no sign or any indication that it was a hostel. The room did not match the picture. The administrator did not provide clear instructions on how to enter the building. The instructions were only about how to enter the hotel itself, but you can’t access the main building without keys. We were lucky that a guest happened to be entering and let us in.

The location was nice, very close to the beach

The room was dirty, the sheets where stained and the bathroom had hairs in the shower, no ac, and the window was broken so no way to open it and get some ventilation. As a solo traveler I didn’t feel safe sleeping in a house with strangers… yes I did have a key to my room but who’s to say I’m the only one with a key?… it was not clear from the description that it would be a room in a house. I’ve been to other “guesthouses” in Portugal and they have all been more similar to hotels, with a 24h concierge and a room in a facility… when I tried to cancel my booking (after seeing the state of the room) the owner declined and charged me the whole stay.
