Villas Vallazoo

The room was lovely, clean, and had perfect facilities for a small 3 night stay. Fridge, coffee machine, cutlery, sink, microwave. The pool was directly outside the room. Quiet stay, with only one other family staying at the hotel. Zoo attached to the hotel was much bigger than I expected, with a wide range of animals. Some had room in their pens, and shared it with other animals which was nice for the animals. Location was perfect for exploring outside of Valodolid, but not central, short drive into the lovely town, with amazing food and restaurants inside. If you didn't have your own transport however, this hotel would not be suitable for you.

Some animals in the zoo had small cages. Pool could have been a bit cleaner.

The room was confortable. The place is very quiet and beautiful with the pool, so we definitely relaxed during our stay there.

The opening hours of the restaurant!! We only had one meal on our arrival day (which was delicious). Otherwise, it says it opens at 8am, which never occurs during our 3-day stay :( We always left before seeing it open around 9-9h30!! I don't mind staying out of town when there is a restaurant in place. So, I was disappointed as we always had to go to town before starting our day.

The area was quiet. The room was reasonably priced. The shower had decent pressure and was hot. The air con was powerful.

The room had a horrible damp smell, which was entirely overpowering. The food from the zoo wasn't good, so plan to eat before you arrive.

The setting was very relaxing. Coming from the coast I appreciated that it didn't feel very commercial. Our kids loved the zoo. They also enjoyed the playground area and the pool. We also were pleased with the restaurant. The food was better than we expected, and the prices were quite reasonable. The rooms were quite comfortable as well.

The hotel apparently was having lots of credit card terminal problems when we were there, and we ended up having to pay cash for everything. It seemed to be an ongoing issue based to the message they sent me when I reserved that implied we should bring cash. I understand that sometimes these circumstances are beyond the control of the property. I work for a business that has run into similar issues in the past. However, these days many alternative methods for charging cards exist in Mexico (Clip, iZettle, Stripe). The property had a stable enough internet connection that I'm sure they could work something out. When you're trying to relax it's not that fun to worry about having enough cash. Their prices are reasonable enough that if the real issue is that they prefer to receive cash then they should set higher prices for card payments and offer discounted payments for cash as many other business do. I'm any case If they aren't going to accept cards soon I think they should update their listing on booking to reflect that so people are aware before booking. Other than that the main complaints would be somewhat expected for this price range...low water pressure and stained sheets. I wasn't paying resort prices so I wasn't that disappointed in those issues. I appreciated the location and being surrounded by vegetation (definitely need a car though), but the humidity was a bit much a times. No fault of the property but something to consider if traveling during warmer months. If you have kids who like to run around bring some extra shirts so they can change when they are soaked in sweat!

A real find, villas were great in a lovely location, just out of town on the edge of the jungle. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The zoo was an added bonus.

Staff was courteous and prompt to any question or actual help I needed. The location is out on the outskirts of Valladolid so you will need a rental car most likely to avoid any delays trying to get into town.

Really only the location, but that’s not an option for them and the type of operation they run there. It isn’t just a villa, but more of a compound in the Jungle!

The property was more beautiful than shown on the pictures. Clean room, clean pool, nice service, great stay. Thank you.
