Baan Kieng Tawan

Baan Kirng Taiwan is a lovely small hotel in a great location in Khong Chian. We took the bus from Ubon Ratchathani to get here, and it was just a 5-minute walk from where the bus dropped us. Khun Pim was here to meet us, and she greeted us warmly. The hotel is on the newer side and it is elegantly designed and decorated. Such a feeling of peace. The room is not huge, but so well designed and furnished that we didn’t feel at all cramped or constrained. No breakfast is served here, but there are coffee shops nearby that open early, and 7-11 and Lotus’s are very close. The hotel lobby has coffee, tea and hot water any time of day. If you’re planning to visit Pha Taem National Park and you don’t have your own car or motorcycle, Khun Pum can arrange a taxi for you. We went to the park for the hike and ancient petroglyphs, and it was fantastic. Don’t miss the river walk and Wat Khong Chiang, positioned right at the confluence of the Khong (Mekong) and Mun rivers. Just a short walk from the hotel is Wat Tham Khuha Sawan, a beautiful wat with lovely gardens and the biggest gong in Thailand. This is a serene and special place to visit.

Nothing to dislike!

Lovely Hotel in a great location. Staff were very friendly and kind. Extremely comfortable bed in bright room. They brought us a kettle. Steps from everything.

The location is close to the town centre

We booked a bungalow with garden view, but there is no garden. Just a few plants around. The breakfast was very very basic

The hotel is very clean and the staff were really nice and helpful. Very quiet area, close to everything.
