Kiyala Guest Farm

Location was beautiful and we loved the little verandah for breakfast. As we were there in a really cold spell, bedding was so warm and much appreciated!

We would have liked a little more space for preparing breakfast inside (as it was cold).

Our host was incredibly attentive and accommodating, Saartjie truly went above and beyond to make sure we were perfectly at home while there. The beds were comfortable & the bedding quite warm enough. The bathroom facilities were clean, spacious and attractive, and the sleeping/living area was quite large. Backup lights were provided to alleviate the effects of loadshedding, which I found to be a very thoughtful gesture. We did not spend a lot of time at the farm, but having our morning coffee while discussing the vegetation and birdlife was quite pleasant.

This is the smallest thing and hardly a criticism, but I would have liked a small bowl and a dishcloth to facilitate being able to clean our cups between drinks. I am sure if I asked for it, it would have been provided, but we only spent late evenings & early mornings there and at those times it seemed unkind to bother. And then: one has to be very careful approaching the entrance to the farm from the R40 after dark, it is not easy to see the break in the curb/vegetation that marks the entry. The first night, I missed it completely & drove past and even the next night when I had a clearer idea of where it was, I had to go very slowly to make sure I didn't miss it.

The owners were so nice and friendly, my mom enjoyed the place so much. It is so quiet, close to the malls and restaurants. Seeing the animals every morning was just an amazing experience. I definitely recommend this place 💯

The staff was friendly, welcoming, and the fact that they mind their own business, giving us space and privacy. The communication is excellent with their clients. I'd come visit again, all the way from Rustenburg in North West.

The gravel road is not the problem considering the place itself, it's natural sense. However, we were driving a sedan car, and we struggled driving on the road to the guesthouse from the main entrance gate. They could improve by making it a bit smoother, maybe tar that only part of the road a little, to avoid humps and stucking on the soil with the car. Also, one of the single bed provided for us is worn out, and was not comfortable at all, we had to share a bed just for comfort. Tissues should be provided everyday as we ran out of the one we got when we arrived, luckily we had ours.

The rooms are clean, it is peaceful. There is too much space to chill and braai. The stuff is friendly and welcomed us with warm heart. We felt at home.

The signage on our way to the guest house, we nearly got lost as there is no sign that indicate that we should turn to get into the Guest house.
