The Townhouse Strand

The location of the Strand Townhouse is excellent, in the centre of the village close to all amenities and a good breakfast is included on the main hotel which is a 5 minute walk from the Townhouse. Unfortunately this is where the positives end.

The Townhouse is very dated and the rooms were of poor quality with old furniture and fittings. Our room was very noisy early in the morning as it backed onto the delivery area for the neighbouring restaurant. We had a top floor room and there was very loud scratching in the attic/on the roof during the night. While the sheets were clean, the throw cushions on the bed were very visibly stained. The images online did not reflect the room that we stayed in. The whole place seemed like it had minimal investment and really you are just paying for location. There is better value and better quality accomodation in the village.

To get breakfast, we would have had to walk over 5 mins to another building so we didnt bother as its too much hassle in the morning.

We were upgraded to stay at the Strand Inn instead of the Townhouse, which was exceptional. The most comfortable beds possible, and the crashing of the waves made it the best most relaxing stay.
