Dawn of Happiness

Literally the absolute nicest people ever. The place is really really pretty and calm all day long, the beach is gorgeous and the food delicious. Would recommend to literally anyone to come here.

Pas possible de boire quelque chose plus tard dans la soirée. Il aurait été préférable d*avoir un cadenas codé sur le frigo externe.

Onverantwoord dat dit nog bestaat! Het verblijf was vervallen, overal afval, de hutjes waren niet onderhouden. Onze kamer stonk, de gordijnen en sommige ramen konden niet dicht, het muggennet had gaten, er zat schimmel en vocht in het plafond en de muren, er liepen insecten in de kamer, aan de badkamer muur hing stront van een dier. De lakens waren vuil, het personeel heeft deze met veel tegenzin vervangen met even vuile lakens. We hadden 2 nachten geboekt voor de back to basic ervaring en zijn na de 1e nacht direct terug vertrokken. We hebben er amper geslapen en waren vies van alles. 's nachts hoorden we allerlei beestjes in de muren. Ze waren ondertussen aan een andere hut aan het werken, van 's morgens vroeg geklop en heel de nacht brandde er een vuur, we waren helemaal uitgerookt. 's morgens bij het magere ontbijt viel er ineens iemand van het personeel achterover, volledig onder invloed. Het personeel was niet vriendelijk. Dit zou gesloten moeten worden.

The location was lovely. You can eat your breakfast on the beach. Walking distance to the pier for Railay beach ferries. Hot shower, WiFi worked in the room. Lots of hangers to dry clothes. Small supermarket short walk away. Others within 30 min walk. Restaurants on the beach also. KoDam kitchen nice.

The owners did not engage, even questioning if we were guests after 3 days. I was kept awake on two nights past 1am by chatting and chopping outside as the hosts had room right next to our bungalow. The room was super hot even with windows left open. 300 baht a day for a bike plus deposit plus keep passport.. We had better deal with 10 minutes walk. We ran out of water and they charge 20 baht for small bottle. Supermarket down the road has 6 large bottles for under 70. I expect to pay a bit more at resorts but this was excessive for water in my opinion. Breakfast was OK but they cook the fried eggs early so they are cold when you eat them. We asked about boat trips as we read another review how helpful they were here.. They basically said look on the Internet and phone some companies. Other small things that added up to us being disappointed about our choice here.

I love everything about this place~ the kind people who run it, the simple & very comfortable bungalow, the location; a little walk along the beach to the port to get a ferry to Railay or wherever you’d like to go. Many delicious restaurants neighbouring Dawn of Happiness on the beach & you receive a delicious breakfast from Dawn of Happiness that sets you up for the day… the environment is what makes it all though… it’s so so beautiful to be immersed in Mother Earth so abundantly. The soundtrack to this week was do delightful, constant waves, incredible birds, clattering cicadas & cats, dogs, hermit crabs… to pause & just be at Dawn of Happiness, will totally regenerate your being.

amazing location on a private beach, away from the touristy areas but still close to various activities (e.g. horse riding, pier to railay, kayaking). come here if you want to avoid tourist traps and really feel at home! the staff were super-friendly and there were so many cute dogs, cats and chicken roaming the properties. although breakfast was the same every day, it had a lot of variety: fried rice, fruits, eggs, drinkable water, coffee and bread - and it was free!

we went during hot season so our cottage was a bit hot without AC. there was a fan, which is nice, but the rooms could’ve used a bit of improvements. other than that, the cottages had a down-to-earth vibe that allowed us to connect more with nature. a little side note: on Saturdays, the neighbours play quite loud music until midnight, so bring some earplugs :)
