Roo Poo Guest House

Local right near the pier. The boat driver and taxi brought me from the Koh Phra Thong. They rang the phone number, a guy came and made the bed. Handed me the key. Seen a lady yesterday asked for money that l owed. That was it , staff not needed.

Toilet did flush. Had to take off the system to flush manually.

Roo Poo guest house is in a fantastic location, it's a couple of minutes from the Koh Kho Khao pier so really ideal for convenient travelling. The room in the guest house was plain but big, the air con worked great and the bed was comfortable so no complaints at all. It was good value. We fell in love with this beautiful island and its incredibly hospitable people and would love to return. We spent a morning snorkeling over coral reefs, walked to the ruins of an ancient city sadly no longer officially open but with information boards, did lots of swimming and visited the Tsunami park and museum in Ban Nem Kem of course (very moving). We also ate in many of the numerous lical restaurants, all good food. We heard dozens of different kinds of birds, heard monkeys and even saw some large monitor lizards walking through the yard! This is a little slice of paradise that needs protecting.

Some more information about how to access activities upon arrival would have been useful, we figured it out with the help of kind locals but would have been useful at the beginning.

Amiable host. Easy to get to from the pier and shops and restaurants nearby.

The walls in our room could do with a serious clean. It looks like some serious insect killing has been going on and the remains are left to run down the wall. The communal sink needs replacing desperately.

Nice lady who managers the guesthouse and we had an enjoyable stay. Love the fact that there is a common kitchen for very light food preparations and the sink and fridge.

Nothing

The property wasn’t ready to accommodate. They didn’t respond to any calls or email. We arrived at the property with no one there. We were waited for over an hour till we lost patience and ended up having to find another accommodation on the other side of the island which is not what we were expected. I’m not sure this is the property mistake or the OTA?
