Very close to the entrance of the ancient city.

The owners are so insistent to sell you extra stuff, even after saying no multiple times (safari+++, dinner, tuktuk), too intrusive to me. The single room is not bad, it's just overpriced compared to all the others homestay I've been in one month in Sri Lanka : small room, bathroom a bit dirty, need to ask the host for an adaptor to plug devices (not the usual plug in Sri Lanka), can't charge devices or use the fan at the same time.

Accommodation was over booked. Hopefully a single mistake. Owner helped to find another place.

Magical location! The property is located few minutes walk to the ruins and 3 minutes walk to a big lake, where you can have a leisurely walk and enjoy a beautiful view. You can also hire a bicycle at the property for 800 LKR. Kalum, the property owner, does great elephant safaris. His safaris are better than organized tours, cause he doesn't follow 10 other jeeps. He will take you different route, where you get to see more elephants without disturbing them and from really close up. I had a jeep to myself and i absolutely loved it! Would highly recommend this safari. You can also buy precious stones from Kalum, as his family runs a mine and have been in a business for many years. Kalum is very knowledgeable about many things and will look after you. The property has very good WIFI.

+ unbelievable good value for price (2000LKR for two people): simple but clean room with AC + host Kelum is very enthusiastic helping you (AND of course people want to sell their tours, we didn't find it too much or disturbing, we understand they make a living from this) + bicycles for cheap rent (800LKR for one) to explore ancient city five minutes away and our HIGHLIGHT: the road at the lake behind the house :)

The host want you to go on an expensive safari, that you will stay in their room is a bonus for them.

The owner is really nice and will help you out with whatever you need. They also have their own safari service. The location is great, a couple minutes bike ride from the ticket office to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. They rent out bikes as well. Food is great, some of the best we had in Sri Lanka.
