The lodge is located behind some solid gates and has a reassuring security presence. First impressions of the hotel were good with a charming lobby area with sofas and chairs. A friendly welcome greeted us and rooms were sorted efficiently. My room was spacious with a double bed, desk and comfortable chair. A kettle was provided with supplies of coffee, tea and milk. There was also a small fridge in the room. It was a perfectly comfortable place to stay. The heating system in the room made no noticeable difference to the temperature which remained stubbornly cold every night of my stay. As we had busy schedules we barely spent any time in the room so this lack of warmth was not too much of an issue. The hotel unexpectedly cancelled our room on the last night of our stay, despite confirming the full length of stay when we checked in. Our belongings were gathered up by staff and stored in another room, along with those belonging to other guests whose rooms had also been unexpectedly cancelled. We were invited to go into this room to identify and collect our belongings. I have never experienced this from a hotel before and hope not to see a repeat!

Room was freezing cold, and request for a blanket simply ignored. aircon not working and when reported next morning was assured this would be resolved, but it wasn't. Eventually moved to another room where aircon was almost just as ineffective. Wont be using this venue again.

The rooms were very dirty, you could see the dust. The place had alot of loadshedding and the aircon did not work at all. The place was cold. It seems like it was the worst room. The bedding was old and dirty and the towels had dirty spots. It was the worst place we ever visited.

The treatment from the management of College Lodge is very unprofessional and very rude.The facilities in the rooms are old and must be refurbished. I would not recommend it for group bookings. Rates a
