Domu Mia Villa Siargao

Booked the apartment on the upper floor which is generally very nice and modern. The location is very relaxing. Well equipped kitchen and 10min ride away from General Luna. Friendly staff + booking of scooter possible - however a bit more expensive than average.

The reason we chose this Villa was the new pool to beat the Philippines heat. However, the first day it was cleaned and not ready to use while the other days it was so dirty from frogs and flies entering during the day and night - at the end tadpoles were swimming in it making it impossible to enter the pool. We asked for cleaning which was done immediately - however without success. Other guests were also avoiding entering the pool. (see pictures) As there are many power outages in Siargao - which we are already used to, energy often needs to ramp up again during the night. This wasn’t a problem at all at other resorts in Siargao, but here it was connected to constant beeps which kept us awake two nights in a row not able to turn if off. The owner is aware of this issue and wants to solve it. Both of these above issues made it impossible to really relax here - leading to a decreased rating on Booking. Otherwise it would habe been a very good rating. As a heads-up for people afraid of insects: there are a lot of caterpillars in the apartment which was not a problem for us but had to clean it out daily.

The room, the pool, the quiet of the place but 10 min max motorbike to general luna. Walking to nice malinai beach. Nico super helpful organising transfer!

Very comfortable bed. Good facilities and excellent staff who were always very accommodating to any requests. The owner Nicolas, would always reply to any emails and would immediately respond to any queries regarding the property. He would also be available to answer any questions regarding your stay or for questions on activities around the island. The housekeeping/cleaning lady was also very nice and did a great job of cleaning the room and always available for any requests for extra towels etc.

Location is a little far from General Luna town center so you will need to catch tricycle or have scooter to get into town.

very private, everything inside beautiful and brand new, the bed was incredible and Nico is a brilliant host, will be back!

The property & everything inside the villa is totally brand new & of the highest quality, no expense has been spared! The bed was to die for, super mattress, all brand new linen (including a proper duvet, which is rare in Asia) & great pillows! The bed is surrounded by a mosquito net for protection & privacy! Brand new towels! The kitchen was fully stocked with every utensil, the toaster & rice cooker had never been used before & even had the plastic seal still on! Huge fridge, easy to use electric hob cooker, plenty of cutlery, dishes, crockery & all brand new! The layout of the villa is stunning! Nico the owner is such a lovely guy & couldn’t do enough for us including booking tricycles, sorting a scooter, taking me to get some petrol for the scooter as it came low, lending me a waterproof rain jacket during our stay, he also recommended some great beaches, places to visit & restaurants to eat at! Nico very kindly allowed us a late check out which helped a lot! Good location only 5 minutes on a scooter from the town, very quiet not even a rooster to wake us up in the morning! Wi-Fi is super strong! AC was brand new & there was also a fan on the ceiling, so we were never too hot! Pool is great, it was so nice to open the doors to the villa & have a pool only a few feet away! The outside furniture was again all brand new & to the highest quality with luxury/comfy sofa, seats & a dining table to eat outside! Domu Mia is one of our favourite properties in the 4 months we’ve been travelling through Asia! It’s an absolute hidden gem as from the road you can’t see anything, except a little lane down to the villa, but once you open the door to the property, it’s an amazing place!

Nothing! Only that we had to leave & go on to our next destination as we could of happily stayed there for another week or two!
