Beach House

Cozy and relaxing. I really enjoyed the smart TV and the bed was very comfortable.

The view on the balcony was not that impressive, I was hoping for a view of the sea.

The location is excellent as it’s a few meters from the beach. Pepper street is my favourite road in Jeffrey’s bay. If you up early and the waves are good, you can catch the surfers. Plus it’s close to the Spar and Nina’s restaurant. It was clean and bathroom was good and bed comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful and were a pleasure to deal with. Nice to sit on the deck for having a braai. Parking outside which we felt was safe. Area feels extremely safe.

There were a few areas that need improvement though to bring it up to decent standard. * bathroom mat is very old and frayed. Chuck it and buy a new cheap one * no bread board or bread knife which should be standard in self-catering * no braai blik or braai tongs which should be standard in a self-catering unit with a BBQ- which is why we booked. Also invest in a decent braai grid for the unit * the fridge was not turned on properly or faulty so leaked water on the floor. The fridge should be ready for guests and I would suggest the thermostat is checked as the setting should be correct not up to guests to sort out * no cloth or drying up cloth just a sponge for dishes. So terribly sorry we left out dishes which we don’t normally do * if you have a frying pan, supply an egg lifter. That should be common sense * very minimal with crockery. We had two short glasses and one long glass and mismatched coffee mugs. I would suggest supplying 2 wine glasses in the unit too. * the other unit we booked for our Japanese guests had no main plates at all only side plates and bowls. That’s unacceptable in self-catering and we had to wing it when we did a braai for the 4 of us. The owner needs to dig a little in their pockets and get a few basics to make it self-catering after all that’s why many people do book. A fam for hot summer months would be a bonus too as no air con. Would I book again? Probably as it wasn’t unpleasant at all and was clean and comfortable. But I would bring bits with from my own kitchen- which is a bit silly for self-catering.
