The location

The room was damp with mold.

We had a very pleasant stay at Casa Ampeia. The accommodation is about 10 min ride from Alba Iulia and was therefore a perfect location for us. The accommodation is next to a pretty busy road, but you do not hear the cars inside nor in the garden. The garden is very nice to sit in. The lady who welcomed us was very lovely and even though we were the only guests, we did not feel unsafe at all. It is a perfect place to stay if you are looking for peace.

I would recommend a shower curtain in the bathroom and maybe better mattresses.

The location has some nice landscapes.

The property was left in disorder. No kitchen staff and no cleaning staff.

We booked two rooms in this new (2018) location, to spend some time away from the city and to have a base for our travels. The place is some 12 Km away from Alba Iulia, between a national road (DN 74) and a commuter train railway (the train station is nearby, behind the house). Being new, everything was nice (although some minor improvements were needed) and there were not too many people around. There are 6 rooms with private bathrooms, one of the rooms being a suite with 2 bedrooms. There's a terrace on top, to enjoy the view, but every room has a balcony/terrace and there's also a terrace on the back of the house. The restaurant was not operational, meaning no one was cooking, but the kitchen and restaurant were available for self use, with a self service professional espresso machine (which actually can be used only after some instructions from the owner), which makes a very good coffee. I would have stayed there longer, but my wife got bored quickly and wanted to go somewhere else.
