East Lombok Dive Hotel - Rooms on the beach with seaview

The owners Chris and Roger were wonderful and accommodating. Communication was prompt and clear. We didn’t have a chance to dive as we stayed here before departing from the east port after hiking up Rinjani but we did snorkel the reef directly out to the front of the hotel and it was stunning (undisturbed, alive with fish varieties and bountiful!) which was a pleasant surprise - would highly recommend diving with them as they have an in house dive instructor. The food was wonderful prepared by the in house chef. Not to mention an incredibly reasonable room rate. It is not a ‘fancy’ hotel with bells and whistles, but the hotel far exceeds expectations at this price point. There is not much around in the way of restaurants or shopping etc but if you want a hideaway for peace, quiet and beautiful oceanfront scenery it’s perfect.

The place needs a better care. I will start with bedsheets and removing extra mattresses leaning against wall.

I like this place located directly in front of the beach, secluded, and far from the crowds. This place is perfect to enjoy the sunrise. Also, they provide boats to snorkel/dive around, such as Gili Petagan and Gili Kondo.

Its secluded location made finding lunch or dinner a bit hard. Either we have to rent a bike or else, or ask the helper if they were around. Limited options for breakfast. The AC location is not right.

Rahmad and his wife do a very good job, very friendly and helpful. The place is quiet and relaxing. Very good shower, always with hot water.

The surroundings are not so nice, little infrastructure (no good warungs etc.). I recommend the dive center to make drinking water and tea and coffee always available for the guests.

The extremely friendly and helpful local staff, the fact that the location was secluded with the beach right at your doorstep. The company of the other guests.

The fact that it seemed that there was WiFi, but apparently there never was. It was quite misleading because for such a secluded place, having internet access was crucial, also because it was so complicated for foreigners to get a local sim card. I also found it awkward to be caught in what seems like a possession wat between the French and New Zealand owners of the place. I feel bad for the local staff.

Staff was friendly. arranged a good snorkeling trip for us to the nearby Gilli’s. Nothing fancy but good value for price.

Nothing other than the beach nearby. Good for a short stay.
