Casa Consani

I had a really lovely 1 night stay at Casa Consani. It is really close to the train station and close to the beach. It is not in the old town but perfect location to walk to and explore the old part of the city.

Este curat, aproape de zona pietonala, aproape de plaja, este si un restaurant chiar jos la ieșirea din apartament.

Parcarea este un pic prea departe, in cazul in care găsești parcare liberă

We communicated with Denise who was always responsive (in English and Italian), she even helped me out with the tricky local bus schedule as I struggled to get information off the internet and the local tourist info office was only opened in the afternoon. It was with her help that I managed to plan by day trip to the beautiful nearby town of Dolceacqua. The location was really convenient, just a 5 minute walk from the rail station and you can walk into the old town in Alta Ventimiglia in like 10 minutes if you use the lift in the tunnel. The local market and supermarkets are all within like a 5 to 10 minute walk and you can also walk to the beach in about 10 minutes or so. The shower was excellent, great water pressure. In this kind of building, you are dependent on your neighbours to behave in a considerate manner and not disturb each other - thankfully, it was all peaceful enough and we had no issues.

The freezer of the fridge was broken, it wasn't repaired during my stay there so I couldn't buy ice cream and put it in there. Secondly, yes there was a coffee machine but we were only given two pods. You can get 10 of those for as little as 1.79 euros from the local supermarket which I did get in the end, Thankfully the Carrefour City Market is close by and it was open, even on a Sunday. If these coffee capsules can be that cheap, which not just offer the guests a few more? And we were given these cheap and nasty tiny little plastic cups for the coffee, surely it wouldn't cost a lot more to offer a more decent cup or mug. I like to drink an Americano style coffee with more volume, not everyone drinks espressos. And I don't know if it was just me or because my room was inconveniently located, I had a weak and slow Wifi connection.
