Old Joe's Kaia

We stayed one night at Old Joe's Kaia, it is very convenient located on the N4 in between the lowveld and Gauteng. It is surrounded by beautiful trees! Even though we made our own food, there is a restaurant,amongst others on a beautiful deck. The reviews of the restaurant were quite good( vegan), but we didn't experience that ourselves. Overall, a great stop over!

Expérience incroyable. Petit îlot de paradis. Nous avions pris la demi pension. Le repas ( végétarien) était juste absolument délicieux et raffiné. Meilleur repas du séjour en Afrique du Sud. De même pour le petit déjeuner végane, incroyablement bon, frais et copieux . Dans l hôtel un magnifique parc arboré fait parti de la propriété avec une agréable piscine. Les hôtes sont très gentils. J ai beaucoup aimé la décoration raffinée de la salle a manger / salon .

Where do i begin ? Firstly the owners Marian and Paul are two of the nicest and most descent people we have met in a long time . It is so refreshing to still know that there are good people out there and it restores your faith in humanity I wanted to surprise my partner, with a lovely weekend away and because i knew that the food would be plant based and vegan , I was a little apprehensive as to what to expect and i had visions of going to bed hungry and eating unknown food because i had never really eaten plant based food before , so i prepared for my trip ..... At the very first padstal , i stocked up on biltong , crisps , nuts because i was not really sure what to expect while my partner who loves this type of eating could not contain her excitement to stay at Old Joes Well ,what an unexpected and unforgetable feast was presented to us that i am still talking about with friends The food was INCREDIBLE and if you read all the other reviews you can quickly pick up a theme of the quality of this food and how Marian combines flavours and ingredients that is a taste explosion Not only was the food incredibly tasty and delicious but the amount of food that was presented was really unexpected and all my snacks that i need never have bought , remain un -opened We battled to finish all the food and we went to bed very happy with full tummies after this taste experience The next day the breakfast was even better..... it was hands down the BEST BREAKFAST of my life and i have been very privileged to have traveled extensively both overseas as well as local and this was the best breakfast hands down I could go on an on about my time at Old Joes but i urge anyone reading this reveiw to book now We will be returning again very soon and this time it will be for a few days as this is exactly what people need to recharge their batteries by experiencing good people , amazing food and clean air

De hartelijkheid en vriendelijkheid van de eigenaren was top. Hett eten was echt geweldig! Zeker gaan boeken met diner! Prachtig uitzicht vanaf de veranda op de mooie tuin waar je onbezorgd mag rondlopen.

Ein wirkliche besondere Unterkunft, das Haupthaus ist mit ganz viel Charme eingerichtet und liegt gefühlt mitten im Wald. Die Gastgeber waren sehr bemüht und haben uns am Abend bekocht. Leider war das Essen rein geschmacklich etwas speziell, aber wir sind auch keine Veganer von dem her können wir das nicht richtig beurteilen.

Aufgrund des vielen Regens war es überall sehr feucht und modrig, auch die Zimmer, welches etwas in die Jahre gekommen war(bettdecke war freucht).Aufgrunddessen habe ich mich nicht wirklich wohl im Zimmer gefühlt.
