Gasthaus Zum Kreuz

Very classic style German guest house, restaurant was delicious, we had dinner there. Great staff and family owned and run business. The location of the guest house was pristine, I liked that it was out on its own away from other towns or places, because of this it really felt like a getaway/retreat. It's right near the top of the ridge of the mountain range in the black forest, just a short walk up the hill from the place is a great view of the black forest and the Rhine valley river down below with France in the horizon.

Two single beds in the room, I know its classic for Germany but for me was weird to sleep in a separate bed from my wife just a few feet away.

My family and I stayed in the Family suite and it was a wonderful experience that exceeded my expectations. We drove from Triberg and the views are really breathtakingly beautiful. Nestled in the Black Forest, the Gasthaus is so well taken care and really was a welcome retreat of relaxation. I met the new owner and she was so welcoming and accommodating to any request. They spoke perfect English and made us feel at ease upon arrival. The balcony with the mountain view is a relaxing and stunning view. Breakfast is in a beautiful room and delicious (especially the coffee and meats & cheeses). It was a great experience and I really recommend anyone to stay here in this friendly and clean environment. Thank you Gasthaus zum Kreuz for a great stay.
