Moontide Riverside Lodge

Candy was a good host, and warmly welcomed us.

Moontide Riverside Lodge is very faded and in desperate need of renovation. The boardwalk is broken and falling into the river, the rooms are dated and smell musty. This property does not even closely match the standard of other similarly priced hotels, being i would estimate 3 to 4 times the cost it should be. On top of that, we were charged a late check in fee (we arrived at 7pm) which is ridiculous but maybe gives an indication of the kind of property this is. I’d also like to make clear that this fee has not negatively impacted my view of the hotel and without this the hotel would still be entirely disappointing.

Das Hotel liegt in einem kleinen Ort Wildernis, direkt an einer Lagune. Es war sehr ruhig und angenehm. Man konnte die Kanus des Hotels kostenlos nutzen um einen Ausflug auf der Lagune zu machen. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommen und herzlich.

Die Terassen-Stühle aus Gusseisen waren leider etwas unbequem ohne Polsterung. Mehr Abwechslung beim Frühstück und etwas interkontinentaler wäre prima.

Sehr ruhig gelegen in einer wundervollen Natur an einem Kanal, in dem man auch schwimmen konnte. Das Personal liest einem die Wünsche von den Lippen ab. Sehr gutes Frühstück und super Getränkeauswahl. Die Managerin Candi ist ein wandelndes Wikipedia und hilft in wirklich allen belangen.

Right at the beginning we got a good introduction and information about possible activities, which we appreciated very much. We used one of the free of charge canoes to paddle to the kingfisher trail - very enjoyable. There are a couple of nice places directly at the lagoon with sun loungers - perfect to rest and relax. Breakfast was great. In general a very nice and peaceful location at the end of a dead-end-street.

The room was very nicely decorated but a bit dark and poorly soundproofed. But as it was absolutely quiet in the night, it was not a problem.

The river was beautiful and taking and a boat trip and using the kayaks were lovely experiences.

Increasing development all around.

The staff are super nice and friendly and were extremely helpful with little tips about where to eat and what to do in the area. The setting by the water is beautiful and tranquil. The rooms are perfectly private and are like little suites. There's overall an excellent attention to detail and thoughtfulness that has gone into the place.
