Avoca Villa Guest House

Das Frühstück war englisch und gut. Die Vermieterin hat sich sehr Mühe gegeben auch mit der Übersetzung. St. Helier hat mir gefallen. Ebenso die Insel Jersey. Leider konnte ich nur 3 Nächte bleiben.

Da ich nicht gerade gut bin im Kartenlesen habe ich die Unterkunft nicht auf Anhieb gefunden.

Cleanliness and staff politeness and Gloria was very nice.

Table top electric Fan not suitable for the room size especially during the heat wave. No electric socket by the electric ironing board. Flushing is noisy.

Best of all were the friendly, welcoming host and hostess, who were helpful and obliging and made our holiday enjoyable and comfortable - thank you! The house and room were comfortable, pleasant, well-furnished and spotlessly clean. The location was great, in a quiet residential street away from the noise of traffic, but not too far to walk into the town with all its facilities. Breakfast was really nice. I also particularly appreciated having a small teapot on the hospitality tray in our room, as I do like to add hot water and get several cups from one teabag!

I don't think anything could be improved! The house has 3 floors with stairs to the first and second floors so it wouldn't suit guests with mobility issues. My husband suffers with back trouble and felt the bed lacked support - but I found it very comfortable, so you can't suit everyone!

Petit dejeuner correct.

Mauvaise isolation phonique: on entend les conversations de la chambre voisine. Salle de bain minimaliste: une personne corpulente ne pourrait pas penetrer dans la douche, peu de pression d'eau (juste un filet), equipement d'un autre age. Hotes courtois mais pas chaleureux.

I had to miss the paid for breakfast again as they are only open from 8.30 to 9 which is too late for catching flights or organised trips. There are also a lot of stairs so you have to be able to clime them
