Casa da Muda Cottages & Villa

Ganz liebevoll eingerichtetes kleines „Cottage“ im Nordwesten von Madeira! Dadurch ist es super leise gewesen & ganz ruhig, abseits von Tourismus. Gleichzeitig hat man dadurch etwas längere Fahrzeiten in jegliche Richtungen. Ein super schöner Ausblick auf‘s Meer von der Terrasse & das Haus hat alles, was man braucht.

Die Unterkunft liegt mitten auf einem Hang, was zu einem sehr (!) steilen Anfahrtsweg führt. Wir sind immer von oben kommend zur Unterkunft gefahren, das war deutlich einfacher. leider war die Wohnung in den Details nicht super sauber: die Küchenzeile war etwas klebrig/schmierig, sodass wir uns etwas Putzzeug im Supermarkt besorgten & nochmal drüber gewischt haben. Das Klima auf Madeira sorgte dafür, dass die Handtücher leider nicht so gut trockneten, sodass sie sehr schnell sehr klamm waren & muffelig rochen. Dies liegt ja nicht an der Unterkunft selbst!

de tuin was prachtig, met uitzicht op de zee. De accommodatie was sprookjesachtig

de woning kan wat klam en muf zijn, dit werd gelukkig een stuk beter nadat we alle ramen hadden opengezet

Zeer mooie tuin en zwembad

Bed was niet zo comfortabel, vooral te wijten aan slecht onderlaken dat niet goed over matras pastte.

Overall we really enjoyed the stay in here. Very comfortable cottage for 2 people,. cute vintage style (we had the house at the very top). Very nice communication with the owners. Very quiet sorroundings.

Garden with the pool is shared with other cottages, not fully private. The same with laundry and coop with hens - we havent found any eggs during our 7 day stay (not a big thing in general but they shouldnt advertise this). Very steep for a car - challenging parking, but we got used to it after a while. A lot of lizards and bugs inside the house (they could sneek even through the closed doors, something to consider if you are afraid of reptiles and bugs - like ants & big centipedes).

The house itself is really cute, with a unique vintage charm that adds real character to the stay. We especially appreciated how welcoming and communicative the hosts were throughout our visit — they made us feel at home and were always responsive. The overall aesthetic created a cozy, inviting atmosphere that we genuinely enjoyed.

That said, there’s definitely room for improvement to enhance guest comfort. The bed felt too soft and overly worn, causing us to sink into the middle, which affected our sleep quality. The towels were also quite small and seemed a bit old or overused, which detracted from the overall experience. With a few thoughtful updates, this place could easily go from charming to exceptional.

The beautiful spot with flowers and the beautiful house of its self. They even have chickens in the garden.

The beds were a bit old, just like the rest of the house. But that gives it his characteristic’s. We haven’t slept really good on the mattresses.

Wonderful stylisch and romantic cottage with everything you need! Stunning views from the balcony and swimmingpool area.

I am more of hard matress sleeper, so soft toppers are a pain in the back (after a week)
