"Very natural beautiful island"

8.0

Lets start to review this place It is part of Lombok island, gili trawangan is one of the beautiful scienic island..which is the beach is clear with white sand and it is private island in lombok. I mean it suitable for the people whom in honeymooner or fiance. There are no pollution in gili island because they don’t provide any motor cycle or car. They only provide bicycle or cidomo for the transportation to sight seeing around the island. transportation using the local one, we called it cidomo. In gili trawangan i used to stay in gili ilalang village which is very quite, calm and suitable for relax from daily activities. They also have swimming pool. The room was spacious and clean. It was nice to stay here. About the food surrounding gili, well i can’t say that expensive or cheap. It depends on how you feel stay in gili. Also in gili the famous one they provide some mushroom..its legal to sell it in there. The breakfast in gili ilalang was so so. Thats all for now about my review for gili ilalang village and gili trawangan generaly. Thanks Agung

"Decent Hotel, Rubbish Location"

6.0

The hotel itself is pretty good. They offer free breakfast which was nice (good banana pancakes) and the bed was huge and comfy. The aircon was a little temperamental however wasn’t too much of an issue. The only real issue with this place is the location. It is right in the centre of the island around the corner from the rubbish dumping ground, the roads are unlit at night and in shocking condition. If it rains (as it did most days we stayed) the roads will fill up ankle deep in places with water infested with gods knows what. There are wild animals roaming around all over the area and it doesn’t smell great. If I were to return to Gili T I would be paying a bit extra to stay somewhere in a more unspoilt area aka on the other side of the island where you can see the sunset. However if you are looking for a budget place to stay the hotel itself is good and the staff are nice!

"Ruined our first impressions of Gili T."

2.0

We arrived to Illalang only to be told by the person at the desk - after various phone calls that something was wrong with our room, and we couldn't stay there. Not only was this particularly aggravating after spending two days travelling but also quite confusing as that morning we had received an e-mail with directions to the hostel. Why were we not informed there was something wrong with the room before hand? We were then taken to another 'hotel' Desa a couple of streets away. Which would be a hotel in a few months time. IT WAS STILL A BUILDING SITE!!! There were four or five villas being built but there was a few at the front there structure was finished. It appeared that there were people in their also, so I can only assume the same thing had happened to them. There was builders working everywhere, it was so dusty that they even had face masks on. I cannot even explain how angry I was about this. Then they tried charging us the same price as the original hotel saying 'oh look there is wifi and a pool and we can make breakfast' - oh really, in a kitchen on a building site? yes I would love to swim in a pool that is surrounded by dust and dirt and rubble. Is this an absolute joke?! How can you think this is acceptable?! And were informed that the building work 'only' happens from 9am-5pm....great. However, as I'm sure many travellers can understand, after 2 days of travelling in the heat we were so tired, frustrated and fed up of the whole situation we said we would only stay in one of the rooms if they gave us discount - to which they finally said that they would do it for 470000 as opposed to 900,000, and reluctantly we agreed. The room smelt like a barn, was covered in dust, it was actually fifthly and only after multiple tries did the key card for the electricity decide to work. The lock on the door was a struggle, the flush on the toilet didn't work and the plug for what i assume was the hot water was not plugged in at the top of the bathroom. We decided to try and get something to eat (having to take all our valuables with us as there was no safe and I did not feel comfortable leaving anything behind, and I'm usually pretty laid back about that sort of thing). When we returned a guy greeted us super smiley saying guys I've been waiting for you to come back, the other people from your room cancelled so we can move you back into Illalang. Obviously we were thrilled by this idea, despite being told previously that we couldn't have a room because there was a problem/damage to it, which was a little confusing. When we got to Illalang the guy got us settled in and they told us we needed to pay. When we informed him we had already paid back in villa Desa he said no you need to pay full price because you booked through booking.com. However, chucking us into some random place was okay? They wouldn't even discount it even slightly despite all the trouble they had put us through. Clearly just interested in making money however they can. I can only express anger and disappointment for this place. Not only that there was an extremely LARGE MOUSE that kept running from the bathroom under the door and behind the bed. WONDERFUL! Yes, the rooms were very large and so were the bathrooms. They were nice enough. I want to give an honest review and other people seemed to like it and they have free breakfast options (no good if you are vegan its all eggs). However our aircon was extremely loud and there was some sort of machinery making noise outside our room really early in the morning which was very annoying. Thank god, we only booked two nights there. Could not wait to leave this place and only hope other people make more of a stand against being moved to a building site than we did. I just feel ripped off by the staff here, who clearly couldn't get there story straight about what happened to our room and think its okay to lump people into an unfinished resort. Well done Illalang, you ruined the Gili Islands for us, thanks a lot.

"Booked for a day stayed for a week"

10.0

Room is clean, big and with a nice hot shower. Ilalang village is on the middle of the island making it the perfect spot to go to the bussy strip as wel as the quiet sunset on the other side. And above all the employees are super friendly and fun to hang out with.

"Good place to stay on Gili Trawangan"

Very beautiful and super clean room with a view of the pool located in the middle of the village. The special outdoor bathroom and the delicious banana pancakes for breakfast made it even more adorable!

"Most amazing staff we've ever had!"

10.0

The staff was absolutely amazing. The rooms were clean but molded on the ceiling. We realised the mold after 6 days because we couldn't sleep at all and had issues to breath. BUT we really do recommend it to stay there. Just ask for a good room and check it before:) the location of the village is amazing It's in the middle of the island so you can reach every corner within a 15min bike tour.

"Basic but clean accommodation"

8.0

I've given this a very good because it's great value for the price. It's really just somewhere to lay your head at night as you'll want to be outdoors in beautiful Gili but the staff are super helpful and friendly.

"May be nice when finished"

2.0

We had seen this hotel on booking.com and after reading several reviews on there which were all positive and from pictures we booked for one night, we arrived after a 15 min walk through very dirty side streets at first it looked lovely, until we realised they were building second floor rooms still, our room door was difficult to open and close as wasn't sized properly and scraped on the floor there was no seals on doors so gaps in between and around, leading to a lot of ants inside, then discovered the shower/toilet etc is outside so again lot of red ants, also on the door frame between bedroom and bathroom the wall the bed was on! We quickly paid for a night and left booking into another hotel as we could not sleep there. I believe when the work is finished it may be nice but not at moment!

"The staff were so helpful, the location was awesome and the breakfast was delicious"

10.0

I stayed here for one week and i absolutely loved it, the staff were so helpful, the location was awesome (10 minute walk to sunset beach and 10 min walk to the main area which is full of restaurants and bars!) The breakfast was delicious - banana pancakes are a personal favourite. I honestly cannot fault this place and cannot wait to be back!
