Wonderful place and wonderful staff. If you love the mountains, this place offers both the chance to go hiking and to relax in a peaceful setting with breathtaking views. You’ll also find excellent food to recharge your batteries at the end of the day, and Misha’s warm welcome will make you feel right at home. Do i need to say more? Highly recommended!

An overall pleasant stay at this hostel, especially thanks to its beautiful location right in the middle of nature. It’s a great place to disconnect and enjoy the outdoors. The breakfast was decent and satisfying, and the property offers more than you’d typically expect for a camping-style stay - everything you might need is available. One of the highlights for families is the nice kids’ playground, which is both fun and well-designed. There are also charming touches like woodcraft elements around the property that add character. The rooms are clean and thoughtfully arranged, especially for children - the mezzanine beds under the roof are a fun and cozy feature. We also appreciated having a terrace to relax on.

There are a few downsides worth noting. While the rooms themselves are clean, odors can be an issue. Towels tend to smell like food or kitchen fumes, so bringing your own might be a good idea if you’re sensitive to smells. The biggest drawback is the smoking situation. There doesn’t seem to be a designated smoking area, and as a result, smoking happens throughout the property - even near children. Unfortunately, smoke from the restaurant terrace drifts into areas like the playground, which takes away from the fresh-air experience you’d expect in such a natural setting.

Great standard of rooms for that price, clean, comfortable. Great distance from Veika Planina cable car, and other hiking routes around Kamniska Bistrica. The owners went above and beyond to help us locate an additional person in the room, even thought we didn't book it.

Boravak u Kraljev Hrib bio je apsolutno nezaboravan! Ako tražite autentičan doživljaj u prirodi, ovo je mjesto koje nadmašuje sva očekivanja. Atmosfera je posebna – mir, priroda i onaj pravi osjećaj planinske idile koji se rijetko gdje može doživjeti. Hrana je priča za sebe – sve je domaće, svježe i pripremljeno s puno pažnje. Gulaš je jednostavno vrhunski, pun okusa i jedan od najboljih koje sam ikad probala! Svaki obrok bio je pravo malo gastronomsko iskustvo. Sobe su izuzetno uredne, čiste i ugodne, uređene s puno stila i topline, što dodatno doprinosi cjelokupnom doživljaju boravka. Posebno moram istaknuti domaćicu, gospođu Mishu– prava legenda! Izuzetno susretljiva, srdačna i uvijek spremna pomoći. Daje odlične savjete, komunikativna je i čini da se osjećate kao kod kuće od prvog trenutka. Takva razina gostoprimstva se rijetko susreće. Sve u svemu – čista desetka! Topla preporuka svima koji žele spoj vrhunske hrane, autentične atmosfere i iskrenog gostoprimstva. Jedva čekam vratiti se!

I stayed at this guesthouse for only one night. I arrived by bus, but you have to ask the driver to stop at the right stop near the lifts to Velika Planina. From here, the asphalt road goes up to the guesthouse. The weather was bad, it was the middle of the week, so I was the only guest in the whole house. I was greeted by a nice hostess, who briefly told me everything. There is a restaurant here, but I didn’t use it, I had breakfast at the restaurant at the top of the mountain near the lifts. The room is small, but cozy and warm. Since I was alone, there were no queues for the shared toilets and bathrooms. The house is old, the floors creak, but there was no one else who made noise except me :) You can walk around the common areas without shoes, you have to leave them on the first floor. There is also a small library and a TV here. After checking out, I was able to leave my things while I spent time in Velika Planina. When I returned with the last lift, I was still able to use the shower and, having gathered my things, I sat on the last bus. I wasn't lucky with the weather, but the foggy visit to Velika Planina with its fields of blooming crocuses was the best part of my trip to Slovenia :)

Very friendly hosts providing a very cosy house with a beautiful view of the mountain ridge. The house is well-equipped and a welcome message in our mother tongue was a very nice surprise.

The wifi router was making some random quiet tic-tac noise all the time, but it was not a problem for us.
