Suite La Gioconda

The perfect place to stay! Right in the walls of the city, it was close to everything, including the bus stops to take you to Cortona. The apartment itself was beautiful, very clean and tidy with plenty of storage space and a really good shower. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked really well. The host, Maurizio, was brilliant! He couldn't have been more helpful and gave great recommendations of places to eat and things to see. We'll be staying again next time we come and visit!

Basement, not really a room. Small windows at top, like you are in a Basement . No cups provided & want you to drink water from toilet faucet.. (No water sink) not recommended for female, feels like you are being watch with camera, knows when you turn on certain lights?

Nice decore, good location. The stone house, floors were a bit chilly.

It is a very good location, just in the middle of the town. Nevertheless it is quiet, even on Saturday nights. The room & bathroom are very original, they are a part of an old house with interesting arches etc.

We were there in winter and we thought the place would have been much more fun in summer. The studio is low with respect to the ground, there are only very small windows, so there is hardly any sunlight. This would be perfect for hot summers.

Not knowing anything about the area, I booked this because cousins were staying at a villa in the hills near Castiglion Fiorentino and the rating was high. It did not dissapoint! The host(s) were so accommodating and even picked us up at the train station to bring us to the unit and give us the low-down of the unit, town, etc. The location of this is apartment is in the "walled city" aka their "downtown" and just steps to all the great shops and restaurants there. Super convenient to explore and walk around. We loved that this town and apartment was not in the more touristy areas of Tuscany (like Cortona or Arrezzo) so we felt like we had a true local experience. I want to say were were probably the only obvious tourists in town but everyone was so nice and didn't treat us any diffrerent. Our favorite part of our stay was hearing the school children walking to school every morning under our window. Interestingly, our apartment didn't have a TV in it and we actually appreciated that. It allowed us to spend more time exploring this wonderful little town. Was fantastic!

Not really a con, but the short stairwell leading into the unit are vertical and small with a rope as a handrail, but it adds to the charm of the building. It's an old building so cannot help! However, those with mobility issues might find it challenging. Also, it's a bit dark inside the building and unit, but it's really because of how it's built, it's old! The owners do a good job at havind motion sensor lighting in the common areas. Please note, too that taxis and ride shares do not really frequent this small town. There is public bus service, but we opted to walk to the train station when it was time for us to leave.

The host was exceptional and checked in with me before, during and after my stay to make sure I had everything I needed and to answer any questions that I had. He even came out late 1 nite when I lost my key and was there in less than 10 minutes. The location was absolutely perfect and had coffee shops and restaurants Literally outside my door that were excellent. I was a woman traveling alone and always felt safe walking around even at night. Everyone in the surrounding shops were hospitable and welcoming. Highly recommend!

I liked everything and didn’t have any complaints. The shower had plenty of water that was hot and was sparkling clean.

The host is a very warmhearted person. He gives advice about local and regional attractions. He helped me very much in a difficult situation at a gas station -he just came himself there and helped to solve a problem. We cordially recommend the host both for long and short stays.

This is a very historical place and the apartments keeps the style of the place.

This property was very spacious and comfortable. It’s located very close to Porta di Florentina with cafes and shops just across the road and parking immediately outside the gate.A perfect place to stay in Castiglion Fiorentino
