Altes Pfarrhaus

Das Haus ist sehr gross und bietet alles was man braucht in den Ferien. Kuche, Badezimmer, Wohnzimmer usw sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet.

Es ist wohl gestanden und wir wussten, dass es keine Waschmaschine gibt. Es war kein Problem, aber für eine längere Aufenthalte kann schwierig sein.

The home is located in a small town in the Black Forest. Multiple hiking trails connect to other hiking trails in the immediate vicinity, and there are many paths back to the village. The host was absolutely wonderful and showed us everything we needed to know about the home. The house itself was huge. A few restaurant options are a short drive away, including the not-to-be-missed Kalte Herberge serving traditional southern German fare with warm and friendly service! More options and grocery stores are in Furtwangen, a 14-minute drive away. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle for a few days or a few weeks, the Altes Pfarrhaus should be on your itinerary.

The WiFi at the house was frequently unreliable and extremely slow. This is normal in these remote areas! Video calls, file transfers, and other necessary activities for conducting business are NOT going to work. Cell phone data reception is likewise sketchy in the valley so you cannot even tether to your device. The closest location for cell phone reception is about 7-8 minutes towards Furtwangen, when you crest the mountain. You can park there somewhere and get online in a pinch if you need to (and I did once to retrieve, sign, and transfer back a contract to the office).
