El tomillar

Good location (3 minute walk) for access to the main road to catch the bus. Quiet location. Comfortable beds. Large pool with lights at night. Secure, electric gated property. Both bathrooms were very clean with very good, strong showers. Very good oven (although the function signs had worn off) Good dishwasher.

No electric toaster. The pool was a distance from the villa down a number of steps. Not ideal for older vacationers.

A pleasant house typical of this area. The outdoor areas with the pool provide plenty of space for relaxation. Christian is very helpful, even late at night. Thank you for everything.

El Tomillar is fabulous and was brilliant for a family of 6. There is so much space and several seating areas. The swimming pool is great - if a bit chilly in late October but the kiddies didn't seem to mind! It's a good size and well looked after. The garden is lovely with the different areas and very well kept. There are two separate outdoor kitchen/BBQ areas so you can enjoy the sun at different times of the day. The kitchen is really well equipped with everything you need and everywhere was lovely and clean. The two bathrooms are great and spotlessly clean with plenty of towels for all of us. As we were so lucky with the fabulous weather, we didn't spend much time indoors but there is a spacious sitting room and dining area. I had to work one day and the Wifi connection is great - no problems at all. Sitting on the balcony in the evening was lovely, looking down towards the sea. We will definitely hope to book El Tomillar again for another holiday. Many thanks Christian!

The parking is a bit of a faff. The electric gates would be better if they slid to one side or rolled up as getting two cars in is a bit of a fiddle, but we got the hang of it after a few days juggling around. Being really picky - the door to the balcony from the master bedroom has no curtain so the light flooded in, but as it didn't get light until about 8 am it wasn't a problem for us - could be more of an issue in high summer. A sun umbrella would have been good to put in the base provided - we couldn't find one for the children to sit under near the pool, but there is plenty of shade in the garden so again it's more advice rather than a criticism. The only other issue is having to leave a 200 euros security deposit in cash. No problem at all with the deposit but leaving cash is a pain as you get it back on the day you leave which means you then have 200 euros in cash on your last day. We travel to Spain regularly so it's not a problem for us, but if you need to change it back to sterling you'll have to pay the commission etc on your return. We understand that the deposit has to be kept separate from the hostal money (where you collect the keys) but it might be easier to take a deposit by card in advance and then return it after departure? None of these points would deter us from booking again as it was all great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - thank you!
