"Lovely villa partially spoiled by a problem during our stay"

7.0

Casa El Palmar 1 is a semi detached villa together with No.2. It seems reasonably new and is beautifully self contained with everything you need for your holiday. There is a small pool which was well maintained. As far as equipment there is everything you need including a dishwasher and outdoor bbq. The kitchen doesn’t have a full cooker but there is a hob.

Unfortunately, we had a problem with the hot water during our stay. When showering we noticed that an orange residue was collecting in the bottom of the shower which also left stains on ourselves which we had to wipe off after with clean towels. It also left the water discoloured when the bathroom sink was filled with hot water.Naturally we advised the owner who in fairness tried hard to sort the problem. Both a maintenance man and plumber came at different times but the issue persisted. Eventually a new boiler was fitted on day 7 which seemed to solve the issue. Every rental property has a problem at some point and things do go wrong. The owner did try very hard to resolve it. However, it should have been spotted before guest arrival. You only needed to either run the shower or fill the sink with hot water and the fault could have been identified beforehand. Therefore it’s hard not to leave this review. Also, if you arrive late it can be difficult to work out which is El Palmar 1. There is a large number one on the wall but the coded key box is actually attached to El Palmar 2. Whilst we had the code we had to work out where the box was. Signage could be improved particularly for in the dark.
