Mirador Torre de la Garrofa

A great retreat for sun worshippers and for people who like views. A truly unusual loft (one large room) with a spectacular terrace, quite close to Almeria. A little difficult to reach, but worth the road hustle. You are quite undisturbed, even if visitors come up to the main gate from time to time. It's really not a quiet place, but this didn't bother me. For me, it was the right mix of urbanity and isolation. Well equipped with 2 bathrooms, a washing machine and a basic kitchen as well as a grill and laundry on the terrace. I traveled alone and I think the loft is suitable for max. 2 people - even if it is rather generous, then. As a guest, you enjoy the whole accommodation for yourself, and I recommend the host should definitely keep it that way. The contact via WhatsApp was uncomplicated and nice.

What I didn't like was the overall cleanliness. Improvements are definitely needed here. Especially considering the price and the demands placed on it. For example: the bed was freshly made, but the sheets and towels were not clean. It was good that the host was quick to help, but you should just be careful with these little things, as it can detract from the overall impression. Also really disappointing was the lighting concept, which did not deserve the name. What a bummer! This location, especially the interior, could be so much more cozy and sleek. Also the photos show slightly different furnishings. If these points get improved, the experience will simply be superb. Ah, and ask before booking if the pool/tub is open. I was at the location in May, it was 26°C, and unfortunately this comfort was still in its winter sleep.

The position atop a cliff is very dramatic. Views to sea are incredible and birds fly by at eye level.

The road to the property is not really fit for many cars - don't go unless you have plenty of ground clearance. Take everything you need for your stay - the location is not very conducive to nipping out for milk! The bedroom and bathroom are very compact.

Incredibile location. One of the most scenic place I’ve ever been. The apartment is very nicely furnished also.

The lights are very bright and cold and did not work properly from the bedroom. Just a suggestion but maybe a few table lamps would improve the atmosphere!

amazing view, unique experience to live in such "castle on the hill", amazing photo location in general the apartment is ok for 2-3 nights, 2 bathrooms are nice the grill is working, the great terrace with incredible view camping is down the hill so we used their beach and bar fridge, dishwasher, stove, microwave

classic short-stay apartment's flaws: not sharp knives, sofa and chairs were not clean, random set of kitchen supply, no extra trash bags when we opened the sofa we found dirty sheets from the previous guests, sofa overall is broken and uncomfortable to sleep on. the whole layout is one long room with partitions, so there is no privacy if you are traveling as a group, which is not clear from the pictures without a car it's hard to get there, as soon as the sun goes down the path to the tower is completely dark we had an uncomfortable situation when the water supply stopped. It turned out that the water in the tower is coming from 2 big containers on the roof, so when one was empty the water stopped and we had to switch to the different container. However, we learned about it only after spending the night without any water.

Beautiful and quiet setting, a lovely place to relax.

The BBQ was filthy and unusable. They show a beach from the window but this is private and not usable... Cala de la Garrofa Beach is owned by the campsite and for their use only. We were asked to wait in for the water man to refill the tank, but were only there for one full day. The water man did not come at the time specified so we left the keys for him to let himself in (as agreed with the agents)... maybe the water tank should have been filled before our stay.

Location and uniqueness. Beds are quite comfortable.

Lighting is appalling. 4 keys to get in. 2nd 'bedroom' is actually a pull down bed in lounge. No trust or flexibility from the owners, which may be justified I guess. Directions are bad. Shower head flops down.
