Casa La morera del Montsant

Beautiful, cozy vacation apartment at the foot of the Montsant mountains, furnished with great attention to detail. Well equipped, even with the basics (washing-up liquid, not just counted toilet paper, firewood if needed and even coffee capsules for the coffee machine). Contact with the landlord is by email and leaves nothing to be desired/quick responses. Almost unreservedly recommendable, were it not for a few aspects that bothered us - especially in the fall.

Due to the construction - which is advantageous for the warmer months - very little daylight enters the ground floor. If you look closely at the photos, you can see that artificial light is on everywhere. Even the view on the upper floor and from the balcony is restricted by neighboring houses/roofs. So there is practically no view of the beautiful surroundings. Furthermore, on windy days - not uncommon here in the fall - it gets quite loud, as the wind drives into the ventilation system/chimney and causes an annoying humming sound that can be heard throughout the apartment. Almost more disturbing than the current building site next door or the bell tower that chimes every quarter of an hour, even at night. A 2nd set of bed linen would have been nice for 2 weeks, I'm not used to that at home. Towels can still be washed, but the bed linen doesn't dry that quickly. Last: It may be that the region/Spain is a wine country. So there is appropriate equipment and even various wines for sale at cost price in the apartment. Nevertheless, not all people find the consumption of alcohol harmless and can be offended, especially if I'm vacationing there with children.

Comfortable home, but for only 2 people. Free Wifi Washing machine/dryer Supplies to cook with. Large fridge/freezer

Second bathrooms shower is outside in courtyard. Only one hand wash soap for shower & basin. Church bells ring around the clock at different times. After first night of no sleep we got used to it and locals don’t even notice.
