Martorell Planet Costa Dorada

The location

Workers next villa made noise early morning.

The property was well maintained and provided a beautiful setting for our family holiday. The rooms were spacious and nice and cool. We loved sitting outside for breakfast each morning on the table and chairs provided.

The pool was a little cold but not within property control and due to time of year of visit.

The garden area was beautiful and lots of shade throughout the day for the kids. The house is spread out over 4 floors with 4 bathrooms so lots of space when travelling with a big group (there were 10 of us). The house is extremely secure with 2 locked gates to get through to get to the property. It was spotless. About 15 mins stroll into the beach and main area.

I know I was made aware of the office closing between 2-4pm when booking but we arrived a little earlier than expected and the office is in a separate town so two of us had to wait around there until the office opened and the rest of the group had to wait on the side of the road until we arrived with the keys for about an hour with 2 small kids. Considering we paid almost €2700 for the week I think the company should meet guests at the house with keys etc. at the time that the guests are due to arrive. Also - the house was missing a few basic things such has bath mats for outside the showers - wet tiles and kids don’t mix. No handtowels, no oven glove. The BBQ needs to be replaced - not useable. There are a lot of stairs also so I think adding a baby stair gate at the bottom of the stairs would be a very good addition. Also - we contacted the property 2 days before leaving as instructed asking for later checkout (12pm instead of 10pm) and we were advised that it was fine. The morning we were due to leave at 9.15 we received a text to say we can’t have late check out after all and had to leave at 10. We were not organised by that stage and had to rush to get out of the house.
