Pier Cottage

We had a lovely time at this cottage. Really nice place, plenty of space and a great location close to pubs, restaurants and harbour. Would definitely return. Good value also.

Lovely cosy and warm cottage, great location, plenty of supplies. The host Gerry was excellent. It was spotlessly clean.

I have to say sadly however that the master double bed is desperately in need of a new mattress. I slept so badly on the lumpy, aged mattress and woke with a back ache each morning. When I investigated the mattress I found it was an old style sprung mattress (not pocket springs) and it had totally lost its integrity, I could easily push it right down to the bed base. I note on the reviews that it was mentioned back in the summer of 2021 so it’s not a new problem. The other double was in a similar state too or we would have swapped . I feel bad having to say this because Gerry was great and everything else was faultless, but when you book overnight accommodation, having a decent bed for a reasonable nights sleep is really a top priority and we all struggled with the bed, our sleep was disturbed and we woke in pain. That’s not good.

The cottage was absolutely ideal for us, warm, comfortable and in a perfect location. Gerry our host was extremely accommodating to our needs.

We needed to exercise care going up and down the stairs as these were bare, rather than carpeted.
