"Lovely week in a lovely house"

7.0

Location, layout, cleanliness and facilities

Drafty windows in upstairs bathroom and lounge. It is a waste of heating.

"Lovely property if you are fit & young and you like staying up late & being part of the crowd!"

6.0

Location was great, for access to the sea and other amenities in the town. The kitchen was well equipped. There was a welcome basket on arrival, with gifts, and a welcome postcard. Wifi worked well providing you signed in with the appropiate passwords, as there are 2 which cover the property. A quaint house, with a lovely view from the top floor when you first enter the room.. this is a lovely property if you are fit and young and have no mobility issues and you like staying up late and being part of the crowd.

Unfortunately the house was situated opposite a noisy pub.Fine for people who like staying up until 11.30 or 12.00 at night, but not ok for us, as we went for a rest. People sat outside the pub, as it was warm, and shouted, sang and loudly hallooed each other every evening except Monday until 11.30pm or later. The landlord did not at any stage ask his guests to keep the noise down, so we had to close the windows in spite of the heat. The house is very tight and cramped. The photos make it look quite spacious. There are 4 floors, so masses of twisting stairs, not good for people with mobility issues. The place felt quite musty and the bathroom/laundry downstairs smelled of disinfectant and damp when we first arrived.

"Great value for money, quaint charming accommodation and great service from the hosts!"

10.0

The Penlee Narrows is fabulously located near the sea front and right opposite The Rising Sun pub! Quaint, old fashioned pub with very friendly staff. The cottage is lovely, lives up to its name of being narrow but we absolutely loved it. There are a lot of stairs so if stairs are not your thing beware. The beds were very comfortable and linen was good quality, crisp and fresh. When we asked for more logs for the wood burner Rosie dropped them straight off to us. Kingsand and Cawsand are absolutely beautiful (as is most of Cornwall) and I challenge anyone not to have a fantastic time staying at the Penlee Narrows.

Nothing! We felt looked after by Rosie and we fell in love with Penlee Narrows. We have relatives in Kingsand so we are familiar with the area but its a really beautiful spot.
