The Dartmoor Linhay

we loved how secluded it was, nestled in the moors. we loved that it was so well equipped - we cooked 4 nights out of 5. The apples and plums were a lovely welcome and Steve is a brilliant host. The photos do t do it justice. if you like it from the photos you will love it in real life!!

Excellent location to hike or relax and enjoy the natural environment. Friendly hosts Steve and his companion Sandy (Lab) very knowledgeable about the area.. Peace and tranquility

Great location very close to National park. Good upstairs space. Nice balcony for a morning coffee. Good shower (once you deal with it's little pressure quirk). Friendly owner.

No introduction to using hot tub - when checked under lid it was covered in cobwebs and bugs, didn't look like it had been cleaned or maintained in a while.The weather turned anyway so we didn't bother raising it, but having come straight from a previous cottage where the hot tub was pristine and chemicals/temperature checked daily, we saw the difference. The downstairs of cottage had a very strong dog smell upon arrival, we ended up buying scented candles to deal with it. Property is listed as pet friendly and we like dogs, but don't own one and felt the sofas and carpet could do with a clean (or quick vax freshen between bookings) to remove smell of prior pet visitors. Owner also allowed his large dog to join in on showing us around, including allowing it upstairs into the bedroom... - again we like dogs but didn't think it was appropriate to allow his dog inside and certainly not upstairs. The shower only works when you do a little pressure trick with the sink taps, no big deal, but unusual, and it was great when up to pressure.
