Squirrel Lodge

Had a lovely stay here. Perfect location. Situated in a beautiful secluded area, nice and private and loved watching all the different types of birds. Lodge was spacious and well equipped. Lovely place to relax after a busy day exploring. We found loads to do within a 10/30 minute drive. Would definitely stay again! Just wish we had booked longer now xx

Sofa bed was a little bit uncomfortable

The location is great! You can easily reach a lot of beautiful locations and it's close be several shops. The Lodge works well for families and the toys and books were a nice touch.

Our stay at the Lodge was disappointing due to the lack of cleanliness. My daughter discovered a used earplug in one of the single beds, which was unacceptable. The carpet and windows were both dusty and sticky, and I found black hair in the bath. I had to wash all the crockery before using it, and even after placing it in the dishwasher, I had to re-wash everything because they were still covered in food residue. To make matters worse, when I tried to prepare toast for my daughter in the morning, smoke started coming out of the toaster. Upon inspection, I realized it was full of melted cheese! When I contacted the owners about these issues, their response was dismissive. They simply asked, “What do you expect me to do?” When I requested a replacement toaster, I was told, “I don’t have a spare one.”

Nice/spacious place. Tv/dvd/games. Quiet.

No coffee/tea. Little bit was dusty. Room to bright in morning weik up early. Small room tv wasn’t working,we couldn’t put on, probably batteries died.

Nice quiet location

Nice and quiet, so peaceful and relaxing and zero light pollution too which meant we could see a whole sky full of stars. It was really relaxing with lots of space and nice and clean.

Good water pressure with both showers Decent double bed Plenty storage Plenty of cutlery, crockery, utensils, oven related stuff Lots of cleaning stuff Plenty of dishwasher tablets, thank you Lots of great board games and varied Dvds Kids loved 🧸 Plenty of pillows and towels. Just enough tissues Just about fit the 7 seater on the drive

Woke up cold each night to put heating on again, the heating went off automatically 😩 Bed number 5 was a folding futon type bed and very uncomfortable, we had to have 3 share the 2 single beds We had a lot of spiders webs and dead spiders around the house so had to run the vacuum on the first night Main oven door wasn't closing properly, not sure the temperature was what it should be, don't know how the grill worked, couldn't keep the flame burning but main oven did go on and stay on Some bulbs needed replacing

Nothing, Everything was spot on.

The location was great. There were plenty of attractions close by to visit with a range of activities to suit all family members. There were plenty of pubs and places to eat within a short drive of the site. Several supermarkets for supplies were also convenient to the site.

The beds were rather uncomfortable. The extra bed and twin beds were not comfy for the children, they swapped beds several times each night and found the sofa more comfortable.
