Jasmine Cottage is situated in the picturesque micro village of Lastingham, and it's the quintessential of the English country charm. The village is very quite, and except for a couple of nights with activities in the local pub, we saw more sheep than people on the roads. The cottage is well equipped with whatever you need for a long holiday, and the WiFi is fast and worked perfect.

We were give detailed instruction by mail on how to find the keys. Still we struggled a bit to get them out of the key box, mostly due to poor design and quality. The cottage was available from 3 p.m, and it was fairly clean on arrival. But the cutlery had not been check and cleaned, so we could see that the previous guests had soft boiled eggs for breakfast. Maybe better with a bit later check in to give room for better cleaning. Then there's the issue with deep wall to wall carpets. It gives a cosy and warm atmosphere, but it's notorious difficult to keep clean. Even though there were no dust or stains, they didn't feel fresh and inviting. The furniture has very low seat height, so we found it almost impossible to sit down with any comfort (but I'm sure that our grandchildren of 2 and 6 years would have loved them) The cottage seems very damp and cold. We had normal summer weather, but still had to use the heating to avoid catching a cold. The back yard looks nice on the pictures, but is in need of a lot of TLC. It was also much to cramped for our liking. The beds were OK, but not more. A bit wobbly and squeaky and on the soft side for us. There is no mobile coverage in the village, and the VoLTE don't work with foreign phones. So we had to drive a few miles to be able to make a phone call. We're sorry, The Jasmine Cottage has potential, but simply was not our cup of tea

Very homely, cozy cottage.Exceptionally well equipped. Lovely helpful host, beautiful village and the local pub is very pleasant and serves excellent food.

Nothing to dislike.

The cottage was great. Lovely personal touches made it very welcoming. Fantastic location, great local pub and food. Loved the sheep that wander through the village. Brilliant night sky, could see the milky way. Already planning our next trip to Jasmine cottage.
