Helm Mount Lodge & Cottages

We loved the size of both cottages and being next door meant we were able to pop in/out as necessary to remain as a group. The location to shops etc was good but it would be helpful to know what's in the area ahead of time for supplies ie large Asda about 5 mins away.

The cottages weren't as clean as we would have expected and lots of flies which we understand happens in the countryside but it prevented us from using the additional space. There was no 'Welcome Package' so we had to go hunting for basics like milk, bread and alcohol after dark in an unfamiliar area as we'd travelled for more than 5 hours via car and some of our party travelled by train.

The property is a 5 minute drive from the centre of Kendal. It is a 25 minute drive from both Windermere and Morecambe. So a great location. The hosts (Angela and Clive) couldn't do more to make our stay any better.

Nothing I didn't like!

We were 3 adults and 7 children. Accommodation was excellent for all, (I particularly liked the book case and books, so did some of the children). Despite the weather on the Friday and Sunday (well it is the lakes) there was plenty for us to do, and when it was glorious, it was just nice to sit outside and breathe. Good time had by all.

Personal thing for me, I just wish there was accomodation downstairs as I struggled on the stairs but the bedrooms were all beautiful and clean

The set up and layout of both properties was excellent, with great utensils and appliances provided, and plenty of parking and room for all 13 of us. Enjoyed having the separate building where we could enjoy our evenings, therefore not disturbing anyone who wanted an early night. We checked and no sound traveled unless you opened the door. Was immediately asked by my group of friends to start working on a weekend again for next year.

The possibility of a toilet in the separate building, as we used that the most to congregate a group of our size. Again due to the size of our group, a TV in the separate building would be a benefit, as living rooms weren't big enough to accommodate us. However, we were a large group occupying both sides of the property. Finally, possibly needed more than 1 key per cottage, but again we were such a large group.

It was easy to meet up with Clive to get the house keys.

Loved the whole house, especially the games room.

Shower doors didn't close properly. Welcome pack would have been nice.

Everything , it is close to everywhere , clean , comfortable we love it
