The Old Schoolhouse

Lovely house, so cosy and comfortable, a fantastic stop off on the NC500. The kitchen was well equipped so a meal could be cooked easily (once I worked out how to use the induction hob!!). Loved that the fire was set, and there was plenty of wood for the stove. Everything in the house was of good quality.

A fence to separate the drive from the front garden would be good so you could just let the dog out of the door to a secured area, instead of having to take it round to the back garden. The drive is straight onto a fairly busy road. There are no back doors to the property.

It was a very comfortable place that had everything we needed. We LOVED the fireplace in the living room! The beds were very comfortable. We did t use them, but there were nice flashlight/torches in every room. I would love to find out where to get them! We would definitely return if we were in the area—and stay for several nights! One of the best places we’ve stayed in the NC500!

It was a wonderful property. It would be great for a long-term stay; however, we only stayed one night.

We were a group of “older ladies”. Having a bathroom more accessible to all the bedrooms upstairs would have made things much easier for us. The stairs seemed narrower than normal and one had to be very careful navigating them.
