Driftwood, Carbis Bay

Very clean property with comfortable furniture. Good sized garden. Excellent appliances. Great location and plenty of space to park. Company responded to enquiries quickly and were easy to get in touch with during our stay.

Described as a luxury property but there were no toiletries provided and no spare toilet paper, or things like salt/pepper etc. No full length mirrors. Extra charge for pet.

The property is comfortable and has 3 decent sized double bedrooms which was key for us. The kitchen well equipped and furnished nicely. The location close to St Ives and Carbis bay is great.

I can see from a previous review that the owner has upset someone before over the heating. Sadly we found similar. Staying in DEC/JAN in a property with a large conservatory the house has really cold pockets. The owner rang me fairly late at night on our second day and then followed up with text messages regarding her opinion that the heating usage was excessive and telling us to turn it down. She tracks the heating on her phone and tracks what the temperature is at. We did resolve it, and I was unhappy to leave the heating on timed as she requested so set it at her requested temperature manually. The house was then warm in the evenings. I’ve stayed in many many rental cottages and it’s the first time I’ve felt pressured like this being watched by the owner. For this reason I wouldn’t stay again. It was unnecessary.

extremely disappointed with the property, having to fight with the owner with the property to put radiator on to dry washing and also keep my 1 1/2 old son warm in the cold conservatory. they charge over £1k for a week but they turn the heating off to help there bottom line. my sister left 2 days early due to poor quality beds, my partner and I also had awful nights sleeps in very uncomfortable mattress. my mother got locked in the bathroom due to poor upkeep. Wi-Fi basically didn’t work, had to tether most the time I was in the house. overall really disappointed, ended up leave a day early down to overall experience. would not recommend for such a steep price!!!
