Middlehead Cottages

Excellent well appointed and clean accommodation - no significant criticisms. The dishwasher came in handy. Plenty of space for three people. Minor issues - couldn't find a potato peeler. If you are planning to walk the local footpaths take a machete - unfortunately some of them have become overgrown to the point of non-existence.

Fantastic clear arrival instructions provided. Clean cottage with everything we needed. Added touches such as milk in the fridge. Beautiful peaceful location.

We had an amazing stay here. Lovely and peaceful, we really relaxed. The hot tub was amazing and we had some lovely walks with the dog. We would definitely visit again

The space is brilliant, the views and the enclosed garden is amazing for young kids and/or pets. The hot tub is stunning and a true highlight. It would be great for a family trip, maybe people who are happy to stay put. Or drive 30-40 mins. Not much in pickering but whitby, Scarborough and malton definitely plenty to do. I would say leave the extra cottages and maintain and update the existing ones. This place would be wonderful if you want to escape from everything and anyone and just enjoy the peace.

We arrived and no one was around. We rang the number twice with no answer. We had to leave and went back an hour or so later. Same thing. Then my husband went walking around the site and found someone working in another cottage being renovated. He explained they were decorating but definitely should have someone on desk or on phone! There are no shops or pubs for a few miles. The grounds could do with a little shop for emergencies. Decor is very dated and mattresses are terrible. You can feel every spring. Other than that it's just a bit tired. You have to drive to get anywhere unless you want to walk 6.5 mile to find a shop. We don't know if we saw the owners. There were a couple of workmen out the front but no one introduced themselves and there's a blackboard with a number on if you need anything. (We got no answer). It's fine if you want self check in and you don't need anything.
