Spinney's Boathouse by The Suffolk Cottage Collection

The location is superb, particularly as we were attending a family wedding at Thorpeness Country Club, which we walked to. Being so close to the beach meant we could go for a dip in the sea before breakfast. The accommodation was light and airy and very clean. However, given the weather, it would have been good to know that there were fans in the shed next to the house. We didn't find them until we were leaving and looking for the bins.

There was a problem with flies and the upstairs windows do not open very far. There isn't anywhere for the guests in the 'family room' upstairs to hang up clothes. We ended up using the light fitting wires that run across the ceiling, but not sure how safe that was. also a full length mirror upstairs would also be useful. It could be a bit awkward regarding privacy, if the larger house next door had been occupied.

Good base for coastal walks and cycling,great views from rear garden and walking distance to cafe and pub.

Such an amazing location the kids and I were blown away by how close we were to the beautiful beach. So much house beautifully decorated with everything you need for a fantastic family break away from it all.

Nothing, there is literally nothing not to like about this house or location.

Ideal location on beech. Good linen and beds.

No extractor fan in kitchen area, no saucepan lids and flimsy lock on bathroom door.

Great location, love the back gate straight onto the beach

We were a group of 4 and there wasn’t really enough comfortable seating in the lounge area, had to bring the beanbags down from the bedroom but that worked and was very cosy

The location was perfect. The dog loved the beach. Both Thorpeness and Aldeburgh were walkable and had good facilities. The boathouse was charming and clean.

The living room and kitchen area was very small and inefficiently laid out with no table and getting to the cutlery and glassware was awkward. There was a large sitting area outside, but would only be usable when the weather was warm and dry.

Superb location overlooking the beach

Location is superb. Short walk to beach. Beach house decoration style of property is lovely. Views from bedroom and bathroom are breathtaking. Comfy beds and nice bed linen & towels. Outside seating area is great with bonus of a fire pit. Aldeburgh is walking distance. Parking off road is good.

Property was a bit smaller than expected. Upstairs bedroom was open plan to stairs and living area with no curtains and was noisy if anyone was up early downstairs. Bathroom and sofa were a bit tired. Directions to find it weren’t very good.
