it could have been cleaner and the kitchen a little more equipped. Even though we were only there for one night we prepared our own meal and there were surprised not to find a large bowl, small saucepans, or kitchen towel, foil etc. We needed to wash up some of the crockery before we used it, and the whole place was in need of a deep clean.

The location to the venue we were attending a wedding was amazingly close which was very handy. The 400 year old thatched cottage is very charming and incredibly well kept. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating.

Very helpful host. Nice garden. Characterful cottage. Restaurant, pubs & co-op nearby.

The stairs are a challenge

We knew exactly what to expect from this lovely cottage based on the pictures and reviews. We celebrated my mothers in law birthday in this cottage. She loves everything English (we’re from The Netherlands) so she was absolutely in love with the place! The kitchen was well ecquipped and Tim was very kind to sort out the coffee situation for us as coffee drinkers! Also a fair price/quality ratio for the cottage in comparison to other places in the same area... If you want to travel to a quirky but peaceful cottage, this is the place to visit.

We knew about the hot water ‘situation’ in the bathroom. Not ideal but we were prepared. Also, for the elderly the cottage is not that accesible.

The age and authenticity of the cottage

It is in need of updating in places but still keeping its charm but this didn’t distract from how much we enjoyed it x

Accomodation was picked for closeness to wedding venue, was perfect. The cottage is a lovely old thatched cottage, we enjoyed the experience. The host was very helpful and informative

The stairs are precarious, the property did not have the central heating on, there were oil radiators, which we used and took the chill off, but we could have done with more heat.

The facilities varied greatly in quality. Some furniture was very grubby indeed and yet the kitchen was nicely done
