"Gorgeous location with comfy beds and a great little kitchen."

9.0

This flat is in a spectacular location! We sat out among the roses and watched birds, boats, and the sunset several evenings. It is really clean and has funky midcentury style open stairs which helps the living spaces feel more connected. The kitchen was fine for cooking and making sandwiches. The single bathroom was spacious and the shower was plenty hot and strong. The beds were comfortable, extra pillows in the cabinet, and the linens were soft. I appreciated the washbasin in the main bedroom since I had to share the bathroom with all my boys. There is a laundry machine that washes & dries which was great for leaving a load going while out and having it all done upon return. We walked along the village to the little marina, but spent most days exploring the Kintyre peninsula and the Neolithic sites of Kilmartin Glen. It was a great base for day trips, but we had to plan dinners, store trips, and time for cooking. Oban is a short, albeit winding, drive for supplies and restaurants.

No store or pub (late Sept 2024). The Lord of the Isles pub and store is up for sale! It is being renovated and put on the market. I hope someone buys and opens it as it would make this little village perfect to visit again. Also, just to note - not a bad thing, you must be able to walk stairs to access the toilet.

Have no problem paying for electricity usage but unit price at 0.41p is high.

"Lovely area, would return if cottages had a bit of refurb."

7.0

Lovely, quiet location, with good views and wildlife (Otters, White Tailed Eagles, Red Squirrells, Deer) nearby. Property was clean. Well equipped kitchen with good appliances. Wood burner fire was nice, but unaware that extra logs were available on site - couldn't see it mentioned anywhere. Nice location for dog walks. Shop 10 mins away at Ardfern has most items you'd need, with local produce available.

Would have liked a few things like, tea/coffee/milk, cooking oil to get you started. Perhaps a welcome pack/hamper could be an option, even if it cost more. Found the furniture and beds a bit uncomfortable, and would prefer better/larger bath towels. Information book seemed a bit out of date regarding marina restaurant and shop, as both appeared closed while we were there.

Bit dated. Decor & bathroom updates would be an improvement.
