Clean and had everything you need

It was not the property we booked. We specifically booked the property in South Shields for the location. We had the address and were travelling to the address and then got confirmation that we had a house near Chester le street. This resulted in us having to wait over an hour for our Uber because two of them cancelled due to the distance the Ubers were double the price they would have been from the original location. The owners said it was the fault of booking.com so someone needs to take responsibility for this and compensate us for the extra money we had to pay to get to the Stadium of light for the event we were going to. The owners were very nice when they called me as I questioned the address they gave me as you can see from the photos it was a different address to the one I booked. There wasn’t really anything I could do at that point as I was already an hour and a half in to my journey to get there. I wasn’t offered a refund, just told it was a bigger house and they did say they were sorry about it but booking.com had got it wrong. I’m not sure I believe this 100 percent as I seem to recall reading something similar happening to another traveller from their review. Someone needs to sort this out so people are getting the accommodation they actually booked.

DO NOT STAY HERE. It is a death-trap, the worst place i have ever seen and Booking.com should no longer advertise it . There was no smoke or fire alarm. The staircase has no banister for young children. The bins were overflowing with rubbish. The carpets were filthy and worn with sharp tacks sticking up. It cut my daughter and grandchildren feet. A lamp was illegal and highly DANGEROUS with a broken plug AND no bulb but plugged in. I will report this property to the Local Council Environmental Health dept Two men in balaclava were selling drugs outside in broad daylight. Not what you want your children to see

Absolutely nothing

First impressions were bad and things got worse from there. It's a poorly-maintained terraced house in an area where (as we were later told by locals) no-one in their right mind would want to stay on holiday. The exterior paint was peeling off and the rear yard/garden was unkempt and overgrown. The curtains didn't fit the windows which were dirty. The interior bears no resemblance to the on-line photos. The place is bare, unwelcoming and lacks any quality that would make it an inviting and comfortable place to stay. It's more like a dormitory than a home. We walked around, hardly believing our eyes, then locked it up again never to return. Fortunately, we were able to find a very nice property on another platform so our weekend was salvaged. Frankly, this property should not be listed on booking.com.

It was close to family who live there.

Felt a bit exposed in the day as the windows were bare. Only heavy nighttime curtains.

Lovely big rooms. Fantastic central location.

Only 2 wine glasses for a 3 bedroom house. Bedrooms could have more furniture such as dressing table, chair etc to make stay more comfortable.

Only the fact that we could get the keys straight away

This is not the location we stayed at, we were moved to a different location, by the host, a few days before our stay, The new location was out the way from were we needed to be , resulting in using more public transport, nothing there apart from a corner shop. The result was we ended up paying more money for transport and local shopping, nowhere to go in the evening. Not happy.
