West Street Retreat Grade II listed townhouse

The property was spacious, and had everything we needed. The front room was cosy. The bathroom had both a bath and shower which was nice. The host responded quickly to any questions we had. They also left a welcome drink and mince pies when we arrived. The location was good only 5 mins to the beach and 10 mins to the town centre.

There wasn’t nothing we didn’t like. We had a lovely relaxing time over the Christmas period.

The property is very well equipped

It’s spread over 3 floors, steps which wasn’t clear in the information so not good for my 86year old mother in law

Good location for Harwich & Dovercourt

On arrival, the house had not been cleaned. The carpets & kitchen floor were filthy & towels hadn’t been left so I had to call the owner. She sent a lady to bring towels & she cleaned the kitchen & hoovered the stairs. Going to bed, we noticed that the sheets did not look clean & fresh. The toilet area smelled of urine so I expect the floorboards are never deep cleaned. The garden courtyard was disgusting & dirty.

The location, we have stayed in the area before. Spacious on three floors . The bed was an excellent size and clean. Comfortable for sitting up in and watching tv. We didn’t use it but the separate dining room would have been an asset for a family along with the dishwasher

The kitchen smell, opening the bin it had food waste in the bottom and the smell was terrible. So then checked the fridge which needed a clean and the ice box was full of ice and food stains , the microwave has some food splatter along the back and it smells of curry. Took glasses out of the cupboard and they were stuck and needed washing . Everything needs a deep clean. The carpets up the stairs had not been vacuumed and the sofa / bed settee is full of stains and smells . The bathroom floor! The sink taps are all tarnished and the shower heads needs cleaning . The bedroom carpet hadn’t been vacuum and is stained. All the windows need cleaning. We thought about sitting outside but it’s not pleasant.It saddens me to write this as we have stopped in the area ( house hunting to be close to our 5 month old granddaughter) quite a few times

Great location, has eveything you need there for a great little trip. Excellent having the Pier around the corner. Dining room as pictured.

Unfortunately, the property is a little tired and wasn’t clean. The fans were caked in dust which we needed as it was warm and the extractor in the bathroom. There were an awful lot of stains around and it just felt uninviting with broken curtain rail etc.

Nice lounge, comfy.

2 sets steep stairs , mattresses worn out. Spiders 😱, noisy road.
