Beautiful cottage with lots of personal touches. We lived the location and nice spot to explore the local area.

Attention to detail was second to none. The host could not have thought of more. The accommodation is very comfortable with a touch of luxury. The garden space is beautiful and peaceful. We loved sitting out there. Ideal location for a trip to York and surrounding Yorkshire Dales. The welcome pack was a great addition. We hope to return soon.

Everything was spectacular

Loved the little extras. The bath salts and face masks were a nice touch. The food hamper was amazing.

Everything was more than we could have imagined. I would have loved to have time to stay longer. Jane and Graham had thought of everything. They placed essentials and “specials “ in the pantry and fridge, so unexpected. The bathroom was stocked with luxury. The secluded patio garden area was delightful. Despite being on a main road, it was remarkable quiet as the windows and doors tripled glazed ? The location is easy to get to York via bus and the local shops offered everything. Hopefully we will go back there soon, and enjoy this “sparkly” treasure.

Nothing! It is perfect.

The property was very well presented, comfortable, good kitchen and dining facilities for five adults, well heated it was still early March, private outside sitting area, upstairs (first floor) bathroom with WC plus second WC downstairs off kitchen and easy to contact owner. It was situated in the heart of the village opposite local Co-op and well used shops and next to local pub. There were good local walking paths, but too muddy to use in winter / early spring. Overlooked old mill, river and local park with ducks.

There was free parking but this shared with local village pub and could be a problem if mobility difficulties or too much luggage! Night-lighting in the parking area was dependent on the local pub having it switched on. The main road through the village passed in front of the property, but noise was not an issue. The double bed in the first floor bedroom could have been wider but limited by space and the main bedroom was upstairs on the second floor with no WC on that floor. The TV could have been more modern and allowed access to archived programs.
