"Lovely cottage"

8.0

Lovely cottage, plenty of space and very comfortable. Location was beautiful and only a short walk from Tarr Steps

Aga was a nuisance, made the house a bit too hot. Being surrounded by fields full of pheasants was not great as there was nowhere I could let my dog off the lead nearby and they were noisy very early in the morning. I was expecting wildlife, not farmed birds so not an ideal location for as it turned out

"Peace and tranquility with a gorgeous cottage and amazing views of the surrounding countryside."

10.0

We were met by Neil, the host, lovely charming man that showed us around the property, how things worked and WiFi. He was in the cottage next door and we called on him several times on our stay and nothing was to much trouble for him. The cottage was like home from home, we had everything we needed and more. The scones, double cream and jam were a very lovely thought on arrival and there was fresh milk, tea and coffee to go with them. Everything was of a high quality from the bed linen and towels to the crockery and an amazing aga. The gardens were exceptional, clean and tidy with lots of seating areas and we loved the neighbours - sheep and lambs!

Just one thing that spoiled our stay - too many checking out rules! Stripping our bed and putting linen, towels and tea towels into the washing machine?! Come on, you have 3 house keepers at the property, what do you pay them for?!!
