No61 Winchcombe (Cotswolds)

it was a very homely, comfortable and clean little cottage in a beautiful Cotswolds village.

Nothing. We liked everything.

A very cosy cottage, with an easy contactable host. A pretty garden and off-road parking. A well presented kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher.

A lovely bathroom but downstairs as no space anywhere else for it.

Great location and lovely clean, well appointed and attractive cottage

Did not need the excessive reminders and instructions

Lovely cottage in a beautiful village close to all the attractions of the Cotswolds.

We had a wonderful stay at No.61. The cottage is really lovely and perfect for a stay no matter what time of year. In the autumn/winter there is a cosy log burner and in the spring/summer a very nice garden and outdoor dining area. Alex, the host, is very professional and friendly - we asked a few questions and received a response almost immediately. Alex also provides really lovely touches in the cottage, like the personalised mugs, a message on the blackboard and a welcome hamper, which make it a real home from home. The cottage itself has absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay, and it is decorated really beautifully. We used the cottage as a base to explore lots of nearby towns and villages, including Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Snowshill, Chipping Campden and Bibury - all of which are within half hour of the cottage. Winchcombe itself is a lovely place, you can walk to the high street within 5 minutes and explore lots of independent shops, restaurants and pubs. We ate in the Plaisterers Arms and also had a takeaway from the Indian restaurant, both of which were really good. We aren't hikers ourselves but saw lots walking through the village, so expect it is a great place for that as well. We really recommend a visit to Sudeley Castle, which is approx 15 minute walk from the cottage, and a very interesting place to spend a good few hours. I would definitely recommend No.61 and would love to visit again in the future!
