Bracken Cottage

Cottage is so cute, spotless clean. AMAZING location, 5min to the supermarket & town. We had great weather but I'd say even on a cloudy day the view is spectacular. We only realised when leaving, the hosts own the next door cottage too. We'll definitely be back with friends. The deal clincher is they allow dogs. Ours is very well behaved and loved the walks down the lane. Thanks so much. Gina & Damian

Amazing place great for our pups to run free

Beautiful cottage in idyllic surroundings booked this for a walking holiday with the dog and couldn’t have been happier. Enclosed garden and every little thing was catered for inside the cottage including milk tea and coffee on arrival and all the essentials you’d need for an emergency overnight stay if you were stuck so very thoughtful by the hosts. Silent Valley and Ballymartin/Annalong Beach are close by attractions which we were able to walk to and back. Welcome pack was full of information of local interest and we took advantage by ordering a delicious takeaway from the Bay of Bengal which was delivered promptly inside 30mins. Cottage is beautifully decorated and bed so comfortable you could easily spend a week in the cottage and garden with TV WiFi BBQ and all the mod cons it really was a home from home 🏡 Aileen was a wonderful host and was hand for any queries I had all throughout my stay and I will definitely be back again and will be recommending to my friends and family

The key box opened easily which was good! The doors and windows opened and closed easily and securely. The cottage is spacious with two separate bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom and sitting area. With a view of the mountains it really is spectacular! There is a wood burning fire, although we didn't need it, because we had gorgeous sunny weather. But it's lovely that it is provided for guests. Alongside condiments, fresh milk, water and towels etc. Blankets, board games, books and even a hot water bottle is there to use. We didn't want to leave and will be back asap! The hosts were attentive and welcoming. Checking in on us during our stay. I would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to escape for a restful stay in nature. The views are to die for quite literally the best I've ever seen. I feel blessed to have found such a perfect getaway!

Absolutely nothing aside from the noise of the fridge during the night as it is next to the bedroom. However, the wind blowing would keep me awake as I am unfortunately a light sleeper! I don't think this noise would be an issue for the majority of people. It wouldn't put me off, I bought earplugs. If you are like me it might be an idea to bring some with you.

It’s just lovely in every way. It’s a property that’s well cared for and doesn’t feel like a holiday home. It’s extremely well kitted out, warm and just the right size for a small family. The enclosed garden meant our dog really enjoyed her break too. Communications with the hosts were excellent at every stage

The rooms were comfortable and had what was needed in them and the heating also came on regularly which helped. The views from the cottage were also very good of the mountains etc

Excellent little cottage in a rural area. Very comfortable beds. Nice to have a full kitchen. Very relaxing. Would highly recommend.

What a beautiful cottage from you walk inside it's just stunning, exceptionally clean the beds are so comfortable you don't want to get up, bathroom is spotless shower is a really good size shampoo, conditioner and body gel in containers in the shower towels supplied. Then on to the open plan kitchen where every cooking utensil is provided, what we thought was really thoughtful was the fact there was milk,water biscuits etc left for you oh as well as logs for the fire. Outside is completely closed in by a hand built stone wall, plenty of room for Lexi to run about. As a term of endearment this little cottage is stunning in the beautiful Mourne countryside yet not far from local immenities. Tell you what we will definitely be back FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

Bracken Cottage is a superb wee find. A very cosy place, a lovely wood burning stove, and is nice and modern whilst still retaining the charm of a country cottage. The cottage is very spacious, with everything that you need for a short break away. The enclosed garden and driveway was nice and secure, and allowed us to let the dog out without worrying about him going off and exploring on his own. The location is perfect. It's very quiet and you feel nice and isolated but you're still close to loads of different places. There is a supermarket 10 minutes away, and plenty to do all around. You're minutes away from various car parks for the Mournes, and Tollymore Forest is under half an hour away, which is so nice we went there twice! Aileen provided everything that we needed, with cleaning supplies, laundry and dishwasher tablets, milk and bottles of water in the fridge, a selection of essentials like tea and coffee, and a stock of wood and kindling for the fire. We couldn't ask for anything else, it was brilliant. We could have easily stayed there for a lot longer than we did, it was very peaceful and brilliant value for money. Thanks very much for a nice relaxing break.
