"Lovely house with an insane view"

The house is very well kept and clean, it is a very good size as my group of 8 had no trouble with space at any time. We ordered an Asda delivery for food at the beginning of the stay and at first were worried if it could arrive due to the heavy incline leading to the house but the driver was totally cool about it and was easily managed. The lake has on site parking which we were unaware of as google doesn’t give much help, it was roughly a 40 minute walk from the property and the route to start Scarfell Pike is 2 hours or 15 minute car journey. The view from the front garden is amazing to wake up to each morning, paired with the lovely hot tub in the evening we all had a brilliant time and will be coming back!

Only complaint was that the barbecue was slightly underwhelming and smaller than expected but ultimately ended up fine as we managed to cook with it each day.

What I really like about the property is how peaceful and serene the environment feels. The views are absolutely exceptional—truly something special to wake up to. And the interior is just as impressive, with amazing decorations in each room that really give the space character and charm.

All of it was great. Lovely owner , views and facilities. Thank you for a lovely birthday weekend with my family. The views are amazing and loved seeing all the animals.. It really is such a beautiful place to visit.

The only thing I would let people know is there was little service/ WiFi. Kids moaned but we just entertained ourselves and actually talked which was nice . We had the most peaceful weekend can't fault any thing really. Was sad to leave

"Nice location, house needs a bit of an uplift"

The location is lovely, unfortunately it was very foggy and rainy while we were there so we couldn’t enjoy the view nor the hikes. The house is interesting, old and with a lot of history.

It wasn’t as clean as we would’ve liked, especially the kitchen. The pans were very old and worn, it was impossible to cook with them. The capsule coffee machine didn’t work. There are signs everywhere with restrictions on what not to do, which doesn’t make it feel very welcoming.
