"Great stay. We worked around the pan issue but this is a luxury stay. We should not have had too"

8.0

Lovely spacious house, ideal for a family gathering. Plenty of space for all. Lovely garden. Utility room a real bonus in wet weather!

The kitchen felt a bit dirty on arrival and the saucepans were unusable. Scratched and greasy to touch. More instructions are needed for the many appliances.

"Great space for spending time with loved 1’s."

Fantastic space to share with friends and family.

It was a little tired in places but it didn’t detract from the overall vibe.

"A lovely weekend away for Mum’s 80th Birthday"

8.0

So spacious! Plenty of room and seating for our family of 4 generations.

The walk back up the hill from town! Gardens could have been tidier and trees/bushes pruned to improve potential view of the lake (although it is early Spring)

"Perfect for large family holiday"

9.0

The house is impressive with plenty of space for a large family, comfortable beds, useful boot room for climbing kit, short walk to Ambleside. It is very warm ( we were there in cold winter conditions and the house was lovely to come home to after a day on the mountains). You can walk the Fairfield Horseshoe directly from the house. Beautiful living space and kitchen area, ideal for evening meals together. We were there over New Year and it was perfect for festivities. The ovens and hob worked well . The games room was fun for the children. We all loved it!

Our only complaint is that we cooked for 10 people every evening but the kitchen isn’t well equipped for this. There were only 9 forks, 2 baking trays, one paring knife which broke, not enough water glasses and no fairy liquid despite it being listed as in the cleaning kit. It just needs a restock. Also, the previous people left all the pans greasy so we had to wash them all first.

"Perfect in every way"

10.0

Everything about this property is absolutely perfect, the pictures of the bathrooms don’t do them justice, this place is a lovely home from home that connects everyone in the living dining n kitchen areas but the bedrooms are nicely separated for your privacy, where beds linens and pillows are as comfortable as you get, Gardens are stunning as well and the property is very close to the centre where all the shops bars and restaurants are. Kitchen works perfect, even the integrated waste bins tucked away and pull out just to wipe the bits and crumbs off the sides straight into them, also, it is so quiet and peaceful in and around property, to get a place so secluded yet so close to town you probably couldn’t find a better area.

Can’t think of anything at all and every family member has said exactly the same

"Exceptional holiday home."

Spacious, beautiful gardens, comfortably, well equipped, quiet location.

WiFi a little wobbly but that’s a first world problem which didn’t impact our stay.

Beautiful design, lots of space, especially open plan lounge kitchen diner, surrounding garden/planting provided privacy, though weather prevented us from fully enjoying outside facilities. Location very handy walk to Ambleside, albeit bit steep walk back!

Single downside was lack of heating in most bedrooms. Housekeeping was called before 2nd night (seemed unhappy to be called out) and thermostat was unlocked remotely. Heating fine in lounge...but remained cool in bedrooms for rest of week and damp through condensation. Weather in November was damp but thankfully not too cold. Took the edge off an otherwise superb house. (From guestbook, heating had been an issue before).
